I am not sure some of those note choices are the best. As a flute player myself, it IS an very jazzy instrument and with certain nuances like grace notes, has a swingin' effect. I like to show the value of E minor, for example, with a G natural, not G sharp like played here. Oh, I went to Berklee too :)

A flute solo in jazz is like an oboe solo over heavy metal. Some things just aren’t meant be paired. Violin solos in combo jazz are even more ghastly and uninspiring.

Hey, you can have an opinion. That's just fine. But, it's truly unfortunate that you have such truly ghastly poor taste!! That solo was absolutely burnin'!! I am going to make sure I memorize that entire solo on tenor. Because that was honestly a living master class of smooth, gorgeous melodic lines. And it was swinging so hard! I had a stank face on the entire time. DANG!!!
