Of course we have a bunch of overprivledged white people from the west who have never been hungry a day in their life passing judgement on others. Especially the poor people of the country they are wealthy enough to volunteer their time too. The dim wit in the beginning of the video asked who would want to ride an elephant? Me ! Thats who. These eccentric people care more about the field beasts of this country than the poor brown children that live in abject poverty begging for food in the streets? I think the best thing these people ever did with these otherwise useless animals was to capture them and make them productive. I realize the wealthy trust fund babies that run these organizations cant relate to a hard days work but the rest of us do. The next time I go on an elephant ride I will tip handsomely to make up from the damage you people are trying to do to the families that rely on that income. I will be sending financial support to the hungry children of this poor country and there are many. I guess thats what you wealthy white folks are all about, making sure their field beasts are taken care of while damaging the poor families that rely on tourist income. You all make me sick.

Any effort made to inform potential travelers, and people in general, about the pain and suffering many elephants involved in tourism is to be commended. What a great direction to move the vlog in. I personally visited the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai not too long ago. It was an amazing experience to interact with these beautiful and intelligent creatures. Unfortunately many tourists are not aware of the 'process' elephants must endure in order to become complacent enough to be ridden for our 'amusement'. It is far too easy to pick up one of the many brochures at your hotel/hostel advertising cheap elephant rides. As visitors, it is our responsibility to take the time to do the research, and inform ourselves about the impact we are making on the countries we visit and it's inhabitants. It is extremely important to ensure we aren't supporting people who exploit these animals for profit. Awareness is key. Your KZbin vlog has become a reliable source of information and inspiration for many young people such as myself to travel and see the world. Thank you for taking the time, putting in the effort, and spending the money to inform people about this matter, and give people the knowledge to make informed decisions. Keep it up!

Absolutely brilliant! I'm so proud and thrilled at the work you do and all those that share in your desire to free these elephants. It is broke my heart for many years seeing these animals in Chains and in cages specifically elephants, tigers, any of the big cats. I stopped going to Circus' when I was very young. The clowns in the acrobats were okay but I just couldn't handle them being chained up. I just want to share a story: I was a stagehand for about 10 years, and in that time, I worked a lot of shows at convention centers, hotels, Fairgrounds, Etc. Working at a Convention Center in Tucson, there was another show going on in the main concert hall and it was a circus. And it broke my heart to look down in this hundred and twenty degree sunken parking lot with chains on their ankles chained to a wall. The Lions and the Tigers were in these cages on Wheels and they were pacing back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. It absolutely disgust me to see that kind of crap and writing this through tears because I am so appreciative of the work that you guys do. Thank you

@Paul Goodier Everything you assert is a logical fallacy. There are several places with services that can assist you. The library is a great place to start. You can read books and learn about argumentation. Too bad none of that can teach you how to be grown up or decent.

@Paul Goodier you said why believe something i cant not see? ....... God is not something .So i give you a question . So do you know where is rice come from ? The air ,trees and water,rain and human, many fishes in the ocean and fish live in river..... .God creators beautiful this world . But human destroy this word leave plastic rubbish to ocean to kill fish .... You dont know God is powerfull . I believe in God i have experience about him . When i was young my parents worked so they left me for my grandmother took care of me so they didnt know my grandmother contracted tuberculosis so i got contagious from my grandmother but i didnt got tuberculosis .it turn to TB spine .it made me cant walk. I have a spinal node it ran up and down my spinal then my father just knew that his hand touch and he told to my mom .He is blind .Then they took me to hospital ........ my parents have been pray for me and church pray for me too . If God didnt heal me i had to sat in wheelchair until now..... Now i am 34 years old . At that time i just six years old month

SHE and all elephants ate so intelligent, kind, and loving!! plz do anything you can to help amazing creatures..because of their genuine innocece and unconditional love that they radiate , I truly believe it is Gods work to help them! and I don't say that in a generic or lame way, I really feel it is!! the punishment for being cruel to ANY animals, needs to be just as severe as the cruelty that was inflicted!! love to this pretty girl and to all the hero's who helped her!! right on, God Bless!!

I guess your not into the "Circus"? Are u that young that your parents never took you to a "Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey" Circus? The Circus has stopped the use of "Chains", when it came to transporting the Elephants from the Trains to the Circus tents thru the cities. Thru animal rights groups and the public screaming, including me, the giants now walk free into the tents and are just guided. Since you care so much for this creature, next time you know of a Circus near where you live maybe you should go to it, and see for yourself, and make sure these beautiful,majestic creatures are treated with respect. There will always be a Circus. The days of Elephants in cages are gone hopefully.
@elizabethbeacham4827
@elizabethbeacham4827 7 жыл бұрын
bocaitalian you mean they can't use bullhooks anymore... Which really stopped people from being able to use elephants at the circus because without the bullhooks they have no control over the elephants... the bullhooks are far worse than "chains". for those that Don't know the bullhook is a tool that has a sharp Hook on the end of a long stick and they continually hit the elephants with them...it cuts into their skin and is horribly painful... that's what the public and animal rights groups were freaking out about... for someone supposedly at the front lines of the fight you should know that. Also having an elephant in a circus period means it's not treated with respect... animals Don't belong in the circus...Don't even get me started on how they whip the tigers with a bullwhip in an attempt to control them too... it's disgusting. supporting the circus at all is supporting animal abuse..no animal deserves that fait.

beautiful beautiful animals! My first time with an elephant was in a circus when I was 8. I was out back watching them eat during the break when one came up to me. Her name was Baba and traveled with Circus Merano in Norway. She came up to me and I reached over the fence and brushed my hand against her flank.. 15 years later and I can still remember that touch and how her skin felt and since then I have been amazed by elephants. I last saw Baba a few years ago when her circus was in my city again, right before circus elephants were banned (I didnt pay for a ticket, snuck in! ) I dont know what have happened to her after the ban, but I hope she and her elephant friend Sharon is okay

no human ways enough to injure elephants back. however it is wrong to keep them in Chains.

john edwards No, the weight hurts them they are not ment to be ridden. It can hurt them over time. They torture them to break their spirit and chain them to be ridden around on. It's animal abuse.

john edwards "Instead of smooth, round spinal disks, elephants have sharp bony protrusions that extend upwards from their spine," Carol Buckley, president of Elephant Aid International, said. "These bony protrusions and the tissue protecting them are vulnerable to weight and pressure coming from above." One ride can lead to long term injuries.

ohh wow this is incredible, hats off to raising awareness of the issues faced there. I am in Kenya and we have a couple of great elephant sanctuaries such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust among many others. I am involved in wildlife conservation as well and we have some interesting stories to share. As a daily watcher of your vlogs I absolutely love them. Do let me know when your in Kenya and we can take you around.

When will Africa make the murdering of elephants a capital offense...and the punishment should be shot on site...kill all the poachers...no trial..just shoot them all...

Jim Morrison - the sad thing is, it's not so much the poachers as the kingpins. The poachers are smallfry. The authorities need to follow the money. That's the only way to stop these guys. But I echo your sentiments.

I didn’t know much about elephants until I saw these videos about Lek and the elephants. It all makes sense when you say to visit the nature park instead of on the streets to ride them or see them painting. I can’t believe the amount of pain and suffering these poor elephants endure by being chained and locked into a wooden hold where they cannot move at all- while humans poke, prod, and draw blood. They are beaten, bloodied, broken, severely tortured, starved for many hours and days just to be forced to work and perform by humans for humans. It is heartbreaking to see humans “breaking” these gentle giants with tears running from their eyes and bellowing for over a week just so they can conform to do what humans want.
