Elephant orphans Timisa and Khanyisa will steal your hearts!

We knew it would be just a matter of time before Khanyisa and Timisa started to display some sweet and playful antics.
Timisa is an orphan, just like Timisa. She was rescued in late 2016 by Elephants Alive, and brought to the herd who lovingly accepted her.
It is lovely to see her bond forming with Timisa as well as with Kumbura, who is also an orphan that was rescued in 2009. Both Timisa and Kumbura have Tokwe the Matriach as their adopted mother, and she has done an exceptional job.
We will you more about them both soon, now that you are becoming more familiar with them.
It was also encouraging to see Tokwe allowing Bubi to have more time with Khanyisa, previously for some reason Bubi would keep distance when Tokwe was in their company, but that was not the case this time!
Limpopo seems to have calmed down a little bit, perhaps the novelty of Khanyisa is starting to wear off, but she does appear whenever something interesting appears to be happening.
We went out for a walk with the entire herd, and it was so lovely. Khanyisa's dung was frequent during the walk but seemed to stop when we returned. Perhaps all the excitement when out and about on her adventures :-)
An excellent morning was had, and it was great to see them moving out together in a big herd and see them adapted so quickly to a new ray of elephant sunshine moving between them.

Its so clear how vital the herd are to Khanyisa’s recovery and healthy growth. She has learned so much being with the herd, playing, interacting, seeking comfort. And now she has a big sister to play with. Isn’t it ignorant to fail to realise that an elephant family is so essential for the development of their young!

I fell in love with Timisa awhile ago when she opened her mouth and showed her molars and pink tongue to Adine. That tiny "standoff" between Khanyisa & Timisa was too funny. They are definitely going to be best friends. 🐘❤🐘

Simply beautiful! The co-operation of the herd is amazing. The cows seem delighted with their new member and the welcoming committee was out to make sure Khanyisa had some fun. What joy to see her with other calves as the females keep a watchful eye. Khanyisa is probably over the moon with having cousins to frolic with. 💘 🐘

I lived near The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. I donated to them regularly. I never went there, besides the fact of no visitors, I would probably never want to leave. These magnificent creatures mesmerize me. Watching the youngsters play is truly a blessing. Thank you for sharing these videos with us all.

It almost looked like Khanyisa was playing hide and seek with Timisa under Kumbura’s belly, lol. While the youngsters were still playing Tokwe moved up quickly up and placed herself between them and Bubi. I like to watch Tokwe doing her matriarchal stuff. Many times it’s pretty quick and easy to miss. She’s firm, though, and they do as she directs. I saw her recently check Kumbura when she seemed to get a bit too possesive of Khanyisa when the baby wanted to go see her humans. Tokwe stepped in and made Kumbura back off. Kumbura, the dear soul that she is, takes her auntie duties very seriously.

Her little foot trying to stomp down that bush! The whole way through all of these videos all I can do is just mumble condtanyly.....how cute....just adorable oh my gosh the sweetness!! The whole herd are special....but Khanesia has something Angelic about her. Her sweetness, her gentle playfulness, her vulnerability and her insight into knowing exactly that she is now, an integral part of this herd and that they love her to pieces! It's tangible....you can feel it in all of her actions but never in a precosious way....it is always with pure innocence when she tries to copy one of the herd when foraging or looks to one of them with her trunk to make contact just because she enjoys it! Her personality is so much bigger than her physical size and you could almost imagine you are glimpsing her soul!

When Khanyisa first went to Lindo to say " Good morning!", Lundi's eyes looked full of love and adoration! And so did the eyes of the elephant on the other side of Khanyisa. I wonder if that was Bubi? I noticed Bubi is very protective and motherly towards Khanyisa. All the females seem to be very protective of her. How wonderful for Khanyisa! No wonder she seems to be growing in self-confidence! Lol! 💕

Khanyisa is such a character! She is soooo silly! I love the way she just ran right in between Kumbura's 2 front legs, right underneath her & seemed to move onto another. It's like she was saying! Ha=Ha Timisa, I can get away from you quicker than you think! And then she continues as if to say, "I feeel sooooo Good! Soooo Strong! C'mon, who's next! Who wants to play with me?" I can almost hear her saying it! She is such a delight! A loveable little delight!

I agree. I think they see that every day that they think it is not interesting. I really like that moment as well. Khaniysa running looks like a toddler trying to run, you always feel she might fall. Then as she is about to greet her herd family they cut that part out.

Little Khanyisa obviously feels safe with the herd to play. It is amazing that this herd of elephants have formed a family bond and accept all those that need a new home. Gentle giants with so much to give. The physical scars remain but the love they give each other lessens the emotional ones.They teach humans so much yet only a few want to learn.

This 1 of the most impressive video's I've seen so far that show's us how intelligent & deeply connected these gentle giant soul's are. We can actually watch their awesome bond's grow w/each other & the HERD carer's team everyday - I love that they're constantly in-touch & are extremely protective of their young n each other.... always feeling one another's energy making sure they're o k- My respect 4 elephant's has grown soooo much that watching/observing them has become a kind of meditation 4 me, it feels like their healing me on a level I didn't even know existed within me - Its a beautiful thing! U guy's are doing a great service 4 all of us even as u post video's so people can learn why these amazing Beings MUST be protected - we have so many lessons 2 learn from these powerful ancient teachers!
