This is a long needed updated take of the automated people mover train going between the Landside and Airside Terminals at PIT in Moon Township. This is a much better take with better camera movements and less talking. I especially wanted to get updated takes of these as 2024 could be my very last time riding these as I'm not sure what our flying situation is or the situation with these APMs will be next year due to the Terminal Modernization program. It's too bad because I love riding these every time I come here. This is a combined take going towards both the Airside Terminal on the right side train from Landside and the Landside Terminal on the right side train from airside. This is my childhood airport terminal train system. The system has C-100 vehicles built by AEG Westinghouse, which are pretty common at airports.
These have had upgrades by the successor companies of Westinghouse's transit division, Adtranz and Bombardier, in the late-90s and the mid-2010s.
They have EPCO CL Circleline door open buttons and key-switches on the inside, and a Dewhurst/Dupar hall station on the outside, I believe only at Airside. Both are buttons normally used on elevators. I believe the EPCO buttons came to be because Westinghouse was the original manufacturer of the C-100 vehicles and they owned Elevator Products Corporation at the time. What's also interesting is they have conventional STANLEY automatic sliding platform doors.
Installed 1990-92, modernized 1999 and 2014-16

PLEASE NOTE these were NOT installed by Adtranz or Bombardier, as Adtranz then Bombardier took over the C-100 (now Innovia APM 100) system in around 1996, and this system was installed in 1990-92. Westinghouse was the original manufacturer of the C-100 system. Adtranz and Bombardier did work to these however and Alstom currently maintains these.

The old airport, I heard is planned to be a convention center. I hope they keep the lower level open and create a lookout without the trains in the tunnels for the future.

That might've been a concept at some point but I'm pretty sure that was determined impractical & therefore not happening.
