I moved to Houston, Texas from Michigan. I went to Texas for the weather and to experience living someplace different. Since I’ve been here, I’ve been attacked in so many areas of my life. My body, My finances, being rejected, my job, etc. I came across this powerful sermon that just blessed me. Because when you’re attacked in areas of your life and you just don’t understand, God has a bigger plan for you and me! I say yes lord yes! God will see me through his plan for me.

The FIRST YES... that’s the place where we said Yes to Gods salvation and sometimes we don’t know the fullness of what we are getting into. The second yes is the process of sanctification by which we become more like Christ. It is the place where we seek Him with all our heart. May God help us to Trust God even when we don’t understand or like His plan. Amen.

Elevation: The Second “Yes” Excellent sermon! What is the second “Yes?” It is that question of, “Will you continue to follow me when it gets difficult?” The first yes is to salvation. The first yes is all about receiving. The second yes is about sanctification. The second yes is about purifying our hearts and minds. Often, that requires a refining process that is painful, challenging and lengthy! Salvation occurs in an instant. Sanctification occurs over a lifetime. No wonder Christianity is “easy” if we stop at salvation. Everyone wants the promise. That’s a HUGE step and vital to our faith walk, but if stop there we barely got out of the boat! What about the leave everything part? What about forgetting what is behind and STRAINING toward what is ahead. I know I’ve never known anything that is easy and requires straining. Those two are mutually exclusive. So we must reiterate our second “Yes” and believe by faith that God will give us the grace to walk out this second “Yes!” We are saved by grace through faith (Romans/salvation). Faith without works is dead (James/sanctification). These are not a contradiction- they are a deeper revelation of true faith. It doesn’t stop at the first “Yes.” It requires a second “Yes!”

We say Yes Lord Yes. The first yes is to being saved but, some of us are having our second yes tested. The second yes is to believing God's working even when his presence is hard to discern. Because you had a plan A for your life, and now you're on plan L,M,N,O,P. (This hit home for me. See, the people whose plan A worked will never understand what you're going through or even believe your efforts. Their belief is in themselves, and you're sitting here wondering why you've been backed into a corner with the only weapon left to fight with, God's living word. Only you didn't grow up in faith and this makes no sense to you, but it makes sense to millions of believers. So turn from your past beliefs which haven't helped you, and turn to Jesus. Take up God's word, listen to it, sing it, speak it, until it changes you.) Say yes to this calling. You have no idea what is connected to your yes. There is a breakthrough in this yes. Say yes to letting God's will be done, not your will. When the devil gets loud, make your praise even louder.
