I'm told that some teams were in need at the guard position, Dallas and Washington both included so the Wings snapped her up at fifth overall, Washington Mystics with the very next pick, also in need of help at guard just went with the "best available" and therefore went with Canadian player on the Connecticut final four team Aliyah Edwards.
