I laughed at that moment. The tank literally whined about dying to a pulse bomb when out of LOS. Not even Ana or Bap was saving you there, mate. Kiriko maybe, but only if she had both her cooldowns lol.

The fights between point 2 and 3 really proved to me how crazy pharmercy could be to deal with. I rarely get pharahs on my team but enemies in chat were pissed

I really appreciate that you post videos of games with comps that are considered to be not good with Mercy. Lucio and Mercy mains can be very antagonistic towards each other because the mains are common and the heroes aren’t supposed to be good together. I feel like everyone would be happier if more players committed to learning how to adapt their play on their favorite heroes rather than feeling forced onto heroes they don’t like/aren’t comfortable with and feeling bitter towards the “stubborn” teammate who “forced” them to switch.

Honestly you dont have to switch. Mercy lucio dont have a great synergy but it can work if your other teammates know how to play and sometimes play passive

@@walix0799 Right, that’s my point. You don’t have to switch. But so many people take it as like an iron-clad rule not to play Lucio and Mercy together and force some other on-paper “better” comp. They often lose because whoever switched doesn’t know how to play that hero, and even if they pull off the win, they get bitter if it happens a lot because they want to play their best hero. It would be better if more people embraced the idea of adjusting their playstyle on their best heroes to fit the comp instead of playing it the same way every time and getting mad at teammates for not conforming to their preferred playstyle. I recently had a game where the Bap/Ana on my team had like 2k damage and 2.5k healing in over **6 minutes**. Turns out he was a Lucio main who “flexed” because I picked Mercy. Despite performing terribly on his flex picks, he still required some cajoling to actually switch to Lucio, and it went _so_ much better after that.

as a lucio main, hard agree. merc and luc can be a great duo if both know how to play!!! so many people told me to switch off who i know best bc there was a mercy on my team, but whenever i did we’d lose the first round or second round. but when lucio was picked, guess who won? 😭😭 edit: not to mention, as lucio i can peel for my mercy if theres a pesky flanker like a tracer always on her ass lmao

@@kornfan19 A Lucio who knows how to move can also be a great asset to Mercy for her own survivability. She loves heroes with verticality, right? Lucio may not have the same damage boost value potential as an Echo or a Pharah, but he can really widen Mercy’s flight options in a similar sort of way. I played plenty of Lucio/Mercy successfully (on both sides of the pairing) even in OW1, when a lot more healing was required. In OW2, there’s generally more than enough healing to go around, to the point where over-healing is a really common mistake amongst support players. It’s true that Lucio and Mercy tend to suggest different strategies, but both heroes are quite flexible. The really funny auto-swap to me is when the Zen main swaps to Bap/Ana because they’re paired with a Mercy. Personally, I often choose Mercy specifically _because_ the other support picked Zen. It might be low overall healing, but Discord and damage boost can add _so_ much pressure to the enemy team. Unlike Mercy and Lucio, Mercy and Zen actually have direct synergies: Mercy is a good peeler for Zen, and Zen is a good damage boost target.

Basically, the best of both worlds, don't one trick. Yes, mastering a hero to its best potential is very good, but you always, ALWAYS have to know how to play at least 2 other heroes in the same role. Lucio mains also switch to Kiriko, Pharah mains also switch to Sojourn, Genji mains switch to Cassidy, and on streams Zhau also switches off Mercy too. My point is, yes you technically can play any comp with any support duo or tank, but it's not optimal, so you should switch off Mercy to a main support in a brawl/rush comp, and switch off Lucio in a poke comp (like the one in the video).

Honestly? That Lucio/Ana was the only other player not being rude and blaming everyone else... The Tracer player demanding you fly through bullets to save them then getting salty when they die is ridiculous. This isn't Touhou! You can't avoid mid-flight! Such a rude, toxic team... Well done for sticking with this bunch and giving it your best!

2:56 Have you ever accidentally gotten a final blow while using melee to break beam before GA-ing? I’ve gotten a few Sombras and Tracers that way, and it’s very satisfying.

@@andydietrich3689 If you play with toggle beam on and either Prefer Beam Target or Prefer Facing Target, melee to break beam can ensure that you fly to your facing target rather than beam target. You can also switch to pistol to break the beam.

I think in lower ranks people don’t know how to play them well so it doesn’t work out lol, I know I always end up switching if there’s a Lucio and I’m playing Mercy. I think it just takes practice

This is the type of game I get in 25% of the time, except I'm in diamond so my Lucio/moira is feeding easy kills to the other team, and the 4 of us are left to fight it out 4v5 every fight. The other 25% of the time is when team is always staggered because they don't care enough to group. And the other 25% is with a one trick dps/tank that's being countered hard and everyone else has to swap around them for a chance to win. There's also lots of feeding sombras/tracers/soldiers/genjis/doomfists. The list goes on.

Feeding as a diver is understandable, not everybody knows how to play a flanker, but...soldier? That's literally the easiest hitscan that has been buffed hard...literally you existing as soldier gets value even when you are not getting that much damage or kills

it means your beam doesnt un-attach if you turn to look at someone else! so you can look around whilst keeping your beam securely on the same player :)

yea i normally heal for 10k to 20k unless it a really short game or backfill i think close to 30k was my highest healing with mercy
