Because sometime a few years back the show's writers forgot how to write anything that wasn't just a political attack skit. Even if you agree with their position that just becomes unfunny pretty quick. He really does seem like a very cool and talented guy, and not full of himself the way you might think a former Baywatch model/actor might be.
