Elgar - Salut d'Amour (piano solo)

Sir Edward Elgar (1857 - 1934) was an English composer. Although Elgar is often regarded as a typically English composer, most of his musical influences were not from England but from continental Europe.
The piano solo transcription of Elgar's famous "Love's Greeting" by August Fraemcke. I prefer it in a slower, more tenderly flowing tempo.

wow, this is so beautiful. I think the tempo you chose, and the tenderness of your approach gives the feeling of a more mature love. 1:32 Are you actually fully reading score while playing? Wondering how you make big leaps no mistake without look at the key.

I often watch my hands whilst I'm playing since I usually have memorised most of the notes. I use the sheet music as a guide and a 'safety net' in case of a memory slip. If you watch closely you can actually see the reflection of my face staring right at my hands. Oh if only I can make those big leaps without looking! Piano playing would be a whole lot easier!

@@MXChan I look at the keys all the time! Even if the music is right in front of my face! It's mainly because my eyesight is not great, for someone my age. I am getting new glasses soon (trust me to buy cheap, I chose the designer frames cos they were reduced and I had a voucher!! I ended up paying a whopping £1.95 for a pair of £99 frames but that's a different story which I still told you because I can't stop typing.) Nice playing!

@@Stevenson918 This is a digital piano so I recorded the audio straight into a USB stick by pressing a button (no microphone required). I also added a little bit of reverb in Adobe Audition.
