Absolutely yes! If you need a card that allows you to game at 4k 120fps/144fps pass-through while still capturing in 4k 60fps SDR mode, I highly recommend 4K X over 4K Pro since not only it's cheaper but supports wide variety of resolution and framerate.

Yes, you can stream directly from your iPad using an app like Camo. However, this is only possible using an iPad with a USB-C port.

Pass through at 4K144, but what about capturing?

Based on their website, the 4K X captures 4K up to 144 hz, but the 4K Pro is limited to 4K 60 hz. But the 4K Pro passthrough 8K 60, the 4K X does not passthrough 8K, kind of disappointing!

If this device can record 4K in 144 hz it should be able to record 8K in 60 hz.. I don't get it why the 4K Pro does passthrough 8K and this one doesn't, altho the 4K Pro records 4K at 60 hz!

@@CrazyCookies22 yeah this is kind of disappointing, they could have used thunderbolt 3 / thunderbolt 4 for better transfer speeds tho 😕 and with 8K 60Hz capture capability... I know the price would go sky rocketing but at least it should be available on the market for us to buy it. @elgato please make it for me 😂

Can the 4K X capture 4K60 in RGB 4:4:4 without using MJPEG? My goal is to play 4K120~144 on my monitor but capture 4K60 in OBS with Full RGB 4:4:4. Unclear from the site / tech specs / documentation if this is possible. I do see I can capture 4K60 from 4K120/144 - but there seems to be no information on whether this is MJPEG, NV12, or otherwise.

For RGB 4:4:4, the maximum capability is 1440p at 60fps. Additionally, the YUY2 4:2:2 format allows for up to 4K at 50fps.

I bought the elgato 4k S+ on release and that thing was so bad I hated it the elgato hd60 x was much better hope this one is as good as the HD60 X
