the thing is - anyone who actually listens to and watches this whole video has to come at least very close to the conclusion that this is a masterpiece live performance. Thanks to who ever for this STELLAR audio on this video, to me this is the very epitome of rock music.Marc Ford has everything to do with that of course. But the whole band is just on fire here. My first TBC show was in 2005 for the reunion. The gig was in Pittston, PA at a joint called the Staircase. Steve Gorman hadn't come back yet so Bill Dubrow was drumming for them. It was a "secret show" as Mr. Crowes Garden as a warmup for the tour. They opened up with MMS and my knees started to shake. It blew me away.

Jesus Christ. These guys are too good. I saw them back in Toronto in the early 90s. They were doing Thorn In My Pride, when some jackass threw a water bottle and it hit Chris Robinson in the face. The band stopped. Robinson gave the guy shit for a minute. And then he counted them in: 1 2 3 4, and they all started at the same place. They were just such good musicians.

Now THAT is what a rock n roll band. This was THE best lineup The Black Crowes had. I know a lot of people like Luther Dickenson, but Luther couldn't hold Marc Ford's jock strap. As for Johnny Colt, he and Steve Gorman were an incredibly tight rhythm section. Hopefully when the Crowes release the 20th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, they pay tribute to Johnny Colt because he was a big part of this band.
