This was always a favorite song of mine. I am disabled and wanted to be a cook since I was 15 I didn't think it was going to happen until at 27 I interviewed to be a busser at a restaurant and ended up as a dish Prep cook instead it took 4 years and Covid until I got to be a cook so I've been a cook for 7 months now and I'm 32 I was 15

😆Bunch of dumbasses... I recently found a bunch of pictures I took in OSUT, and seeing those young faces, pretty much all of whom I've long since lost touch with, brought a smile to my face, even if I was never super popular. I wonder how many of them went the full 20+ like I ended up doing, and I wonder how many of them died along the way.

This song reminds me so much of my musician son. Growing up, I couldn't give him much, but someone gave him a guitar, and he taught himself to play. Those words, "I can hear the ringin' of a beat-up old guitar" always brings tears to my eyes, because I remember him practicing, playing the old songs, Johnny Cash, John Denver, when he was first learning. Our house was filled with music. Some of the sweetest days of my life. ❤️

Roman’s 10;9 If you profess by mouth Jesus is Lord and believe God raised him from the dead you will be saved
@DontWant2LoseControlByEpilepsy8 ай бұрын
”that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”“ Romans 10:9-13 NKJV

this is truly the song i resonate with the most. i grew up with a very musical family. they never necessarily pushed me to be a musician, i just picked up on it and it turned into a passion. when i saw the haygoods show in branson, mo, i knew for sure that one day i wanted to be just like them, making people smile on the stage of a packed theater in branson. slowly but surely, ill get somewhere one day, even if i gotta start with low quality youtube covers with nothing but a phone. keep on dreamin even if it breaks your heart ❤️

Only one thing I gladly received from apple was digital copy of this song. I didn't even heard any country song before (just because it's not major genre in korea) and I'm not listening other country song now. I first heard this song in 2015 when I was working. I was in a dead end job with no plan for the future. This song made me remember a dream I had when I was a kid, to become a soldier. I kept grinding at the job for three years until something happened. It ended with my aunt deciding to get me out of this slump and move to a better life. She helped me get in shape and I enlisted 27 August 2019. Right now, I am living the dream that I wanted to be as a kid. And from then on, I keep on dreaming on going far in the army. And yes, even if it breaks my heart in the end.

Mike Murph Wouldn't it be, "improperly spelled"? Or just "misspelled"? It's kinda like saying "also" at the beginning of a sentence, and then "as well" at the end. I always thing grammar comments are funny cause I don't think people care about spelling unless you're in Wisconsin.
@iwannacommentonstuff9 жыл бұрын
+Mike Murph Wouldn't an "improper misspelling" be a word spelled correctly? Logically, the only way to improperly misspell a word is to spell it correctly.

I had hope like this once. That time has passed though. As my family gets older I can see the end clearer than I can see the beginning. I've known I would die of my own hand since I was 17 and my eyes were opened to the truth of the world that surrounded me. When the time comes I will be prepared to answer the call. I only hope my Lord accepts me regardless of my mistakes.

This song came out when my baby daughter 4 years old. She would sing the chorus perfectly...as she has grown she has kept dancing, playing drums, and performing. Just did 3 shows as a main character and people were shocked that she could sing that well & strong (same people would probably fall over if they ever heard her speak Russian or Ukrainian, too). Made her laugh, but this song takes me right back to her in the backseat singing her heart out

My younger daughter was very young when this came out. She would sit in the back and sing along in her "Little girl" voice- these days she is a bit older. But plays drums like an absolute fiend and has a great singing voice; it's not the focus of her schooling, but we are moving to NC and we chose the neighborhood in large part because the high school in that area is academically strong and has a great performing arts/music program. Every time I hear this song, I am reminded how prophetic this song was- if I ever meet Eli Young I'd shake his hand
