Joe & Mac Returns is the fourth entry in the Joe & Mac series, following Caveman Ninja, Congo's Caper and Lost in the Tropics. Unlike its side-scrolling predecessors, it instead adopts the single screen elimination platformer format, tasking players with defeating all enemies on a stage in order to proceed to the next.
