still using the hero 7 black... your observation is spot on. the size of the 7 is smaller than the newer go pros... that's the best pro if you ask me...

@broughton1835 Lol i had the hero 11 and sold it, video quality wise its not noticeable on daytime. Only night tine that you can see the added advantage. Size is where its a disadvantage. I prefer the older model size.

Good review of the GoPro Hero 7 Black. I use two Hero 7 Blacks and a Hero 5 Black for all my video work. I have stayed with this format as I have a number of accessories that fit across both generations. Battery life, I seem to get more life than you had on your test. However I have multiple genuine GoPro batteries which can be bought very cheaply second hand here in the UK as folks have upgraded to newer models. Someone mentioned over heating - that's not a problem in sunny Scotland 😃 Thanks for your review.

I purchased the 7 black when it came out but I never used it. I am planning some trips now and was considering selling the 7 and getting a newer model or even getting the osmo action.

Some people work a bunch and have the money waiting to be used on an occasion. It seems this person has the money but not the time; so when it does happen; the best has to be accomplished.

I have a question. I have a GoPro Hero 5. I love it but I get this kind of choppy footage. I don’t get it. If I keep the camera still it’s ok, if I pan with it etc. it looks choppy stuttery. Hmmmm. Do you think it can be an SD Card thing?

Hey Anthony, unfortunately that same problem still exists on modern GoPros to some extent. It’s caused by the stabilization software within the camera. The only way I know of to fix it is to turn stabilization off when you’re panning

Yes, it overheats pretty easily

Do you use underwater without case ?

No, I never use any of my GoPros underwater without a case. Even the newer ones. I know you can, but cases are cheap, and the cameras are not
