I saw him talking about the Smashing Pumpkins on an episode of The Osbourne's (he went to a concert with Kelly and Jack, I think) and I thought 'Man, he sounds like he's way into music.' Theeen I saw him in one of the Lord of the Rings extras with his GIANT CD collection, flipping through the booklet while talking about listening to music during the Fellowship's hair and makeup. He seems really really cool, a true and passionate music fan.

First Step was actually the debut by Faces not Small Faces. The US versions confusingly had Small Faces on the cover when Steve Marriott had already left for Humble Pie and been replaced by Stewart. Found that quite interesting

I really agree with what he said about how listening to digital music is almost schizophrenic in a way and that we don't really pay attention. I've only collected records for the last year and a half or so but it really changes how I listen to music. If somebody asked me about a band that I've only listened to online, the best answer I could give them is that I like them or I don't. When I put a record on, that's when I am really listening and it is committed to memory. Oftentimes, digital music just falls to the background for me with the rare exception when I repeat a song for like 5 hours (happens more often than I'd like to admit!). This is a really old video but I felt like commenting anyways:p

Me and some friends are going to crash a party he is going to play music at this saturday. We will all dress up as Orcs, Hobbits and Elves; I just can't wait to see his face when he looks at us. Yamasuki - Yamamoto Kakapote Man, it's been awhile since I heard that one. It's some French guys who wrote an infectious little song/dance sung in Japanese by French schoolkids with some judo master screaming orders called "Yamasuki," and folks dug it, so they made a whole album of it (Les Monde Fabuleux des Yamasuki). Other good songs from the album are Abana Bakana and Kono Samourai. The rest are at least worth a listen.
