Can Christians wear Jewels?
I am here to preach the principles of Elim Glorious Revival Church. Someone asked me why the Pentecostal people never wear jewels. What is the principle of Elim Church:?
Before answering to this question, I want to highlight the scriptures over here. Bible has some rules and advises which is common to one and all in the different parts of the world. No one can overcome the rules depending upon their culture and living. But advises differ from one person to another person depending upon the situation. You should not mix up the rules and the advises.
For example, suppose if I want to have a big, long mustache, daily I have to apply some oil on my mustache and stand before the mirror. Then the Lord will tell me that I should not have a mustach because by that time, I could read many Bible verses and I can also pray for a long time. So definitely God will speak to me. Then I will tell, O Lord, I love my mustache very much. Hence please dont tell anything about my mustache. Hearing this, the Lord will keep quiet.
But on the next day, above my lips and beneath the mustache there were so many boils. If I go to the Doctor, he will ask me to remove my mustache immediately. After seeing this, I will feel, the Lord never likes me to have a big, long mustache. That is the advise only for me and not for everyone.
Having experienced this, the next day, when I preach in the church, that none of the male members should have mustache, it is not fair. If God wanted us to do that, He would have given us a commandment. But He has not given so. Some people will have pride upon something. So His intention is to just cut down the pride upon them.
In the same way, whether to wear jewels or not is God’s advise. Those who like the jewels and buy more of them and have it with them. Also they wear it like cine stars and have pride over it. Then God will ask them to remove the jewels.
Dear beloved in Christ, God created the Gold. He has created it for 2 purposes. 1) Gold represents purity. 2) Gold represents faith.
Before God created Eve, he made Gold to grow in Eden. There was a river Pishon in Eden. Wherever it runs, there is gold. God only created it and before he could create a woman, he created Gold knowing that she needs it. Not only that the Lord God also likes Gold very much. That is why He said all the holy furnishings and articles of the tabernacle should be of Gold.
Even when Solomon built the church, he built it with Gold. You can say all these comes only in the Old Testament. In the New Testament also, when the prodicle son came back, his father ran before him and honoured him with a gold ring. You may say that it may be of plastic. But this is only for debating. Surely a lovable father would have given a golden ring.
In the Old Testament, Abraham brought gold jewelleries for his daughter in law. Dear Beloved if you do everything positively, the God will not say anything. The Lord who gave Gold mines under the earth, will not say anything for 4 gms of chain on your neck. No. God loves in giving to you. David had more gold. The Bible Scholars had 4 tons of Gold for the church. How joyful to hear.
So whenever you do something, see whether God will take it for granted. To differentiate between the married and the unmarried women, there is no wrong in putting a Gold chain. More decoration is harmful. You can eat for your hunger. But you should not over eat.

If your are boy. then don't shave, don't comb your hair, don't wear formal shirts and pants, don't bath, don't use soap, don't use shampoo, don't do anything whatever which shows you good to others other than ornaments. Don't preach about not to wear jewels, that is their commitment with God. More than removing jewels, there are n numbers of things to be followed which was clearly said in Mathew 5,6,7 chapters. Please go through it , outward appearance deceive us. If one girl really committed with God about jewel thing, then she can do. But PLEASE DON'T COMPEL ANY ONE. Don't disturb others FREE WILL, don't IMPOSE your WILL.

Dear Pastor, I have great respect for you as you preach the word of God clearly. But in this message you did not show much references to justify your stand. Please answer me pastor, will Gold bring covetousness or not? You said Gold Thaali is a symbol of marriage. accepted. Why Gold? why not something else which will not make us greedy? What is your response to a married poor lady who cannot wear gold thaali? Because of this Gold many girls are not getting married. In church, Poor ladies (who do not even have a gram of gold) give money and the "so called" servants of God (Pastor and Pastor amma) wear Gold. Pastor, my humble request to you, please pray well and read bible one more time, definitely Jesus will open your eyes and you will understand the heart of God. Once God asked the people to remove the jewels, he never allowed it again. This is what I understand from bible. Though gold is not going to decide our place in heaven (if the Gold is not bringing covetousness and making us greedy), according to the teaching of Jesus (Luke 14: 26,27; Mathew 10: 37, 38) it is very clear that one who want to follow Jesus sincerely has to leave everything. Definitely gold will be a hindrance to follow Jesus. Even if we are not ready to leave gold, what else we will do God? Thank you. Praise the Lord.

Sir, gold or silver are neutral- covetousness is from the heart of man, if jewelry were intrinsically evil, then God would not have used it in parables or poems in Bible in positive light. Ref. Song of Solomon, Ezekiel, Psalms are full of examples of jewels being something of Honor. Moderation is key

Even the money you have is valued from gold... Just because there are poor people did you sell all your properties and give all your money to the poor beliver as the early apostles did ??? You explain the differences between the commandments and the councils. Your explanations are correct. According to you, I Timmothy 2 ; 9 and I Peter 3 : 3 can be considered as the councils of the apostles. Ok, but the text of ten commandments written by the hands of God on the stone supports is one an important text in the Bible. It can be considered as the earliest written text of the Bible. Why this passage is neglected and some times rejected in many christian protestant and pentecostal churches ? If you follow one law, you are obligated to keep its entirety. You cannot even light your gas stove (exodus 35:3) , keeping Sabbath only in part means nothing. You are free from the letter. The law that you are obligated to keep is written in your heart by the Holy Spirit. You are obligated to Christ's law. Read Galatians 5-10 times.

@@TheQwertyabcde12345 Dear Brother, as you mention; "light your gas stove" is not written in Exodus 35:3. But you can read "Do not even light a fire in your homes on the Sabbath". In the times of Exodus, to light a fire in the homes was a hard work. The woods must be collected and the fire must be created in an archaic way. But today to light a gas stove is a simple work. The gas stove does not exixt in the times of Moses. So don't confuse today's reality and the reality of the antic period. We must observe the Sabbath as it is written in the text of ten commandments. We must understand the spirit of the fourth commandment. On the seventh day of the week, on the saturday, we must be free to worship the Lord. According to the Bible the seventh day is not transfered to the first day of the week. According to the first commandment we must worship the only true God, not any one god. And according to the fourth commandment we must be free from all our occupations to worship the Almighty Universal God. In the letter written by Paul to the Galatians we read a debate about the circumcision. In this church this ritual was imposed by the judeo- christians to the converted Hellenistic new believers. That is why Paul argues in the fifth chapter of the epistle about this rituel. The Lord father's law and the son Christ's law are the same. After the first comming of Jesus, we are free from the sentence of the law, because the same law with the same spirit must be written in our heart. We are released from our sins to stay in the justice of God. The justice of God the Father and the justice of Jesus are the same.

But Gregorian calender or Julien calender, the order of the days in any calendar is the same.The Jewish people observes the sabbath on the seventh day of the week, the Saturday. Christians consider Sunday as the first day of the week because the first day of the week is the day of the resurrection of Christ. If Sunday is the first day of the week, the seventh day is the Saturday. It is written in the law ( on the stone tables) by the Almighty Univesal God : "Observe the Sabbath, and keep it consecrated", (Exodus 20 : 8) It is written : "Do not commit murder". As a Christian I am not free from this law. I must not commit murder. In the same way I am not free from the fourth commandment. I must observe the Sabbath and keep it consecrated as it is written in the God's law.
