I've never played baseball before on a team other than when playing during P.E. I'm a few days away from heading to college and I want to try out for college baseball. I know the odds are stacked against me, like, SUPER bad but I won't lose anything by trying my hardest and seeing where it takes me. Any tips on where I should begin? I'm relatively scrawny guy, I'm unsure if I should spend most of my summer getting fit for the role or practicing the sports in's and out's.

He just said 10,000 hours to make you good. I've hit my son over 14,000 ground balls since he was 9 years old, he's now 14. Hope to hit him another 5-6,000 in the next 2 years. It shows in his ability on the field. He's also been hitting 300-500 balls a week in a batting cage since he was 4 years of age. He's had a professional hitting instructor since he was 9, not to mention that I've had him hitting off of a Tee since he was 2, (really, his idea!!!). He's played travel ball since he was 7. Practices with his team 4 -6 hours per week and plays 10 months a year. Reflexes are huge. Baseball IQ must be developed. I'm not wanting to discourage your dream but you have to be completely committed and put in a minimum of 2-4 hours or more of work per day at your age and work out regularly to gain an athlete's body. Baseball is multifaceted and you must be good at all areas. Do you know how to judge a fly ball, a pop-up or a ball slicing in the outfield? How are you at base running? Do you have the instincts to read a ball hit to the outfield. Do you know how and when to tag up? I could go on. It's not impossible but you're looking at climbing a mountain from it's base. Do you have a coach who's willing to spend 10,000 hours with you learning the game. Do you watch baseball on TV and listen to the analysts? Get this... with all I've told you about my son, he's just an average player on his team. Hopefully, he'll have a breakthrough and move ahead. I just tell him to keep playing as long as he can and hopefully he'll get that breakthrough. Best of luck to you.

Do you have any dh tips
@ahmedaizi14776 жыл бұрын
mixgamer channle cages daily😂
@UltimateBaseballTraining6 жыл бұрын
If you're going to be a DH and not going to play defense, then you've really gotta hit because that's your only chance of playing. So consistently make hard contact and be productive at the plate. Whether you get a base hit or not, always try to be productive. Move a runner over, hit a sac fly and drive in the run, etc.
@UltimateBaseballTraining6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that will definitely help!
