The elimination method is where you actually eliminate one of the variables by adding the two equations. In this way, you eliminate one variable so you can solve for the other variable.

I think , if the terms(here,4y) are like(same sign) we should substract so that they will get eliminated and if it is unlike we should add them so they will get eliminated

Excuse me sir...like when you are addings the numbers...our maths teachers has taught us toh change the signs of every number..like 4n+3n ...these both are positive number so we have to change the sign....then it will be negative...hence the answer will be..-7 and -14... I think this is the answer...🙂
