Product Review!
Today we'll be looking at an aftermarket version of a Tecumseh 670377 Carburetor needle & seat / float adjustment tool.
I'll show you why it's a great tool to have when working on snowblowers that use Tecumseh Carbs, as it makes removing the old seat, and installing the new seat incredibly easy!
I purchased mine on Amazon Canada;

So it's actually called a Crochet Hook, and not a Darning Needle, but you guys get the idea!

The OLD MAN here just to mention a few weird things i noticed while watching this video: 1. Like the 3 in one tool while using the 3 IN ONE OIL for lubrication, 2. Craftsy actually had a crochet ad put on your video while you showed us how to use the crochet hook to remove the seat. A weird coincidence? Keep them coming you are doing an excellent job on these tutorials.

My seat removal method is an air hose on the fuel inlet while I have my finger over the needle hole. Almost always works. I use a pick to loosen the stuck ones. Drill bit to install new one that I coat in 2 cycle oil.

I bought the genuine Techumseh tool a few years ago, and I don't remember it being outrageously expensive. But I'm in the U.S. and it was before covid. However, it's a very useful tool to have, even for a non-professional like myself. Great video!

I just use a drywall screw to remove & blunt end of a drill bit to install. I've done hundreds without an issue.

Might add that if you have the old brass metal float, shake it, if you hear liquid inside you need to replace it. If you suspect it pour a small amt of gas in coffee can and using something to gently hold it submerged for a min or two then check. Its brass, its thin, I had seen a few get holes in them, the carb will overflow with gas when that happens.

Hey Brother, awesomesauce video. I love doing carburetors. Done probably 15 from my 350 Mercruiser boat, snow blower, mower, Harley, and I did a video on carb clean dvx 400. I never took the seats out and now I'm buying this tool thanks to you. I got it from Amazon for 3 bux but with S @H was $8.50 and it's a different brand. Peace from Minnesota...

Super vid Jake. The only time I did this I held the carb in the upright position to push the seat in with drill bit because I figured with my luck it would flip for sure. Thanks again!

Thank you for the great review on the Tecumseh carburetor tool. This was an interesting video because I am going to be purchasing one of these tools. I learned something new in this video as well I did not know that the center of the handle was designed flat to check for the correct float level. Take care and stay safe. 🔧👍

great video, without tool this is my method to kind of get the same results - I use a drywall screw to remove seat or an angled mini pick, ( I know it destroys it , but it removes it ) - for install I use a mini pick or paper clip to get the seat into the hole - to push it down I use a machine screw or Allen wrench - to measure the float distance height, I use the shank of a 11/64 drill bit

The Tecumseh tool really is a crochet hook on which they attached a piece of machined brass. They're available in various sizes.

I use a air hose and shoot air into the gas barb.The seat comes out fast.First time I did it I put my finger over the hole to catch the seat and it felt like I got shot with a pellet gun.Lol

I have 3 used tecumseh carbs and they all poor gas out when I turn the gas on, would it be because when I'm cleaning them I use an air compressor to blow through all the openings and I would have blown the valve seats out and the needle can not shut off the gas now,
