Hey buddy! Thanks heaps for the tips on farming, really helped me get my village making some cash! A tip for you on an amazing couple of crops to use in combination is Api + Crim - Make them in equal amounts and then use the millstone to combine them, you make INSANE amounts of orens from it.

Thank you for the advice. You are absolutely correct, crim powder is an excellent money making method. It not only increases the value of the final product but it also yields more resources than it takes (2-3 crim powders per grinding process). I didn't explicitly state it in the video but I was trying to find methods that do not require the player to use stamina. This is because you can create multiple bases later on in the game so automation of each base seems like the best way to maximise profits.

Thank you, I walked past this guy about houndred times and I have never noticed him! You can definiately reap seeds with a scythe but it works a bit strange. It will give you a prompt to 'reap seeds' when you stand on a crop tile but if you are little bit further it will only give you a prompt to throw your weapon at it 😅

One big benefit for mushrooms, especially early on, is they can be grown indoors immediately since they don't require sunlight. Very nice for the winter. Other crops require more involved setups with sunlight producing lamps and power generation to accomplish that.

That is an excellent point. Not only does it provide consistent yields all year around but also a quick growth period allows you to level up farming quickly, get high level seeds and mushrooms with good stat bonuses. This might just make them a superior crop.

In old elona the easiest way to make money was to equip your pet with your best gear and then scour low level dungeons, like puppy cave for scrolls, book, rods and potions, by identifying them once you could sell the newly acquired ones for their "full" price, sometimes monster parts could become bonus money, another effective way was buying cargo goods from noyel, the top eastern most town, and selling it in port kapul, the western most city, the caveat with this method was having starting money and being able to survive the ambush from bandits or "grizzly level" mobs in the snow area, in early levels the monster ambush can be dealt with a "strong" pet and a combination of rods but the bandits on the selling journey will always be a problem, this can be technically cheesed by having low fame thus lowering the spawn chance of bandits or, buying a house right next port kapul so you can use a return scroll to eliminate the back journey, in a pinch, using a rope to "respawn" at home also works but with its downsides. The absolute best method to make money was "late game" performance skill as the npcs will literally throw everything to you, even stuff they shouldn't supposedly have

Thanks for letting me know about Elona! I usually love trading games so one of the first things I did in Elin was trying to find some goods that can be traded for higher price in other cities. I don't think that trade goods are implemented in the game at the moment but I'm already excited for the mechanic!

Thank you! 1.The 'streets' in the video are just digged through tiles. You can learn an actual 'road' tiles (my character would sometimes come up with a recipe when digging with a shovel). You can build them through 'flooring' workshop). 2. On home board, policy tab you have a 'weed pulling campaign'. It reduces the possibility of weeds/ flowers spawning across your land. The policy levels up by itself, hopefully reducing the chance even further. As far as I know you cannot prevent it from happening entirely unless you place some sort of flooring across the entire land.

Hey @ZakaPatch Thank you! Taming in the game can be understood either as recruiting wildlife to become your residents/livestock or as a skill 'taming' that helps you take care of your livestock. good way for money and gold early on would be to have some crim bushes growing and use the millstone to make 3 [redacted] from 2 crim, each 3 sells for over 100 in shipping. does take stam to grind it but that's 1 point of stam for 100 ouran or so might be more but I can't remember. Just remember to not eat the product. It's time to cook

I couldn't find better info about how to make wine barrels, just to progress the story, got through vernis boss and still no barrel. Never checked the talespeaker. xD But the one upscale method i've seen people talk a lot about is mushrooms -> bait -> fish -> Bonito Flakes -> wine barrel but that also requires a fair bit of stamina and manual management. =P

@@Rainner_Von_Kessel I recently gave it a try, a stack of 13 or so bonito flake wine was selling for over 500 orens. It might be because 1 fish can give you a bunch of bonito flakes. It varies depending on the fish and how many you catch. Can also turn bone into bait too.

Thanks for the guide on farming, one thing im still unsure of is exactly how seed leveling works. I leveled up my seeds by continually farming and they gained + marks and a stat value for random attributes. The berries I grow with those seeds inherit the + marks but dont seem to gain any of the stat exp boosts the seed had. Is there a way to make that transfer or do stats on seeds not matter.

So you can only select seeds with a specific trait and cultivate them while discarding the other ones (You may want to check out the cooking video as I talk about this process). Once you hit level 10+, 20+, 30+ and so on, the general quality of the crop will also increase. Hope it helps!

This guide is awesome! However, i'm having trouble with the automated harvesting mechanic. I have the Delegated Farming policy, public brewery barrels ready for the harvest, and farmer residents, but for some reason when the berries are ready to be harvested they aren't being put into the barrels. Does anyone know how to fix this or what might be causing it to not work?

So one thing that I should have mentioned in the video is that delegated farming does decrease efficiency as compared to manual labour. Simply put, the crops are not being tended to straight away. I think you are doing everything correctly, you only need to wait an extra day or so. Hope it helps!

My residents won't move the ales from the brewery to any kind of chest. I've got a chest near it with advanced config to drinks only, highest priority, yet nothing. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Unfortunately, priority setting only seems to work on items 'spawning' in the base (as far as I know). Currently, it doesn't work on items turning into different items (brewery, fertiliser, decaying food etc.). A little workaround might be selling booze to the customers in your shop. Hopefully that might be something they will add in the future patches. Dev rolls up a new patch everyday so hopefully soon :) I hope it helps!

It is one of the requirements for 'delegated farming' policy but you should receive benefits from the jobs/ hobbies of the residents as soon as a requirement is fulfilled (for instance, it is a placement of a lumberjack sign in case of a lumberjack profession). It will also be indicated on the home board whether any issues exist preventing your residents from working.

It is most likely because the whole area has a negative fertility value. If you clear everything but the berries, the fertility should increase. Only then you may obtain seeds by using your sickle. Hope it helps!

curious.. can you change the settings of the shipping container so it filters or "requests" the wine/ things you want to sell and set a stockpile sign next to it so the NPC's will take the finished mushroom wine from the barrel and place it into the shipping box? if i have a logger that is doing a amazing job but is overfilling the wood log box, i should be able to increase the priority of that box and set a similar filter with the word "log" to the shipping box but have its priority lower so when the log box if full the excess should go to the shipping box if there is a sign that tells workers to put produce there, basicaly automating the process, might even be able to set some other things that npc's produce that way to auto go into the shipping box

@Rainner_Von_Kessel so far I learned you can set autodump for specific on the shipping box like let's say you never want hearts, add that name for the delivery box and increase the priority higher than the others and it will autodump them from Your inventory but not sure if you can get the residence to do it. but I assume if you set a residence produce sign (whatever it's called) next to it and set the box filter to the exact name or type (wine) in your case, they might put the wine there

OK so someone said that if you dont have shared chest then all items will go to shipping chest if there is a sign to store it. I haven't tested this but you should try it out

I'm still experimenting with those storage signs. One thing I've noticed is that once you run out of space in normal containers, any additional resources will be automatically placed in the shipping crate. This was in fact my main problem with the mushroom set up. This was because there are five different types of mushrooms and all of them level up separately and can inherit different qualities. This makes them extremely troublesome to store efficiently and process.

I’ve never used storage signs, changing items allowed in chests and changing their priority has allowed good automated storage for me. Can set up some extra general containers on lower priority for npcs to place overflow items before placing them in the shipping container.

​ @La_Lente_Oscura That's a really good point. It definitely took me a little bit of time to realise that in some cases signs are a bit obsolete. That being said, I'm still using signs like a fuel storage as it allows for cooking without carrying any wood.

Usually when you sleep 'you can come up with a recipe in your dream'. There are lots of different recipes to learn this way (and unfortunately no way to consistently get the one you want). 'Poor beds' can be built on a carpenters table, these costs 4 planks and 2 textiles (you can get them with shears from fluffy animals - lots of them roaming tinkers camp). Hope it helps!

Good point, I forgot to mention it in the video. The weed pulling campaign seems to decrease the chance of weeds randomly spawning but it does not remove the chance for it to happen entirely. Thankfully the policy itself levels up so hopefully it's even less likely as the game progresses. If you struggle to find those random weeds you can use bulletin board to have a quick look all over your land.

To the best of my knowledge you need to remove them. On the bright side you get some free branches (great source of fuel for cooking). Alternatively, you can forget all about it once you get delegated farming (on lvl 2 of hearth stone).

Thank you! Yes, you can fix it! You need a 'platform workshop' first. You can buy it from Loytel for two golden bars. It has variety of platforms to choose from. The one you need is most likely called 'deep grass floor'.

Great guide, I was thinking about automating it. Queen bee is actually not that hard to get. You basically go to a town with beehives and murder their bees. Mysilia and Lumiest have them. If you are ok with save scumming then it's a sure thing and I already got two without it.

The herbs are in the game but I think that they might have changed how they work. Herbs have very small nutritional value and provide traits such as 'cure bleeding', 'cure poison' or 'cure insanity'.
