In case you're wondering who got the role of Indigant Man in Sherlock (s04e02), it was Ben Abell who is married to Kerry Godliman.

A Welso writes: The pub mentioned towards the end is now called The Old Market Tavern. My friends and I also still call it 'Little O'Neills' to differentiate between it and the 'big' O'Neills on St Mary's Street. Which is bigger. Fascinating stuff! Enjoyable podcast to end the series. Good lad, Elis. Richard, your Welsh accent is uncanny. And I really mean that. ; )

+Richard Herring Hi Richard, felt like I finally owe you some money for this entertainment! Absolutely love the series, and am also a big fan of your stand up. Have pledged some money for the kickstarter (T-Shirt package) and hope you get all the funding you need to keep the series going! I was just wondering if you had thought of asking Caitlin Moran to come on as a guest? I would love to hear a conversation between the two of you! Keep up the good work!!

TEXAS??!! I escaped Texas very early in life, I was 6 weeks old, I crawled to the Land of Enchantment and became what I am today, a Non-Texan. but my sister returned like a salmon to it's birth river, even though she was born in Albuquerque....and I can genuinely say that people that claim Texas as their home, never advance beyond Texas. oh, this is being viewed from way up here in Denver.

Sony's marketing was spectacular for GB. Brought in a bunch of people I'd never expect to bat for them. Well done! RedLetterMedia's science-man about GB is great, check it out.
@Uygkuyfkutfkytfkutfv8 жыл бұрын
Eric Thompson yeah but have you watched their review of it? Quite rightly highlights just how fucking dumb Richards comments on it at the end of this pod are.
@ericthompson58758 жыл бұрын
olivertopple Yes I've watched both. Science man is specifically about the marketing of the film, and why a lot of "right on" people were made to feel the need to support it, and how what they defended it from may not have existed to the extent they've been made to imagine. It's sort of a followup to the review (as well as to their excellent Jack and Jill review, which went after Sony marketing also). "Fucking dumb" seems a bit harsh and rude.

People who don't 'get' football have not grown up in the culture. It is not about the men, nor the ball, but the culture. This experience is romantic. As a child it is like a cross between fairytale and reality. As you grow up, it becomes about visceral emotions and camaraderie. It is a bit like telling men from the trenches in WW1 that war is 'silly.' It is not about the shooting or the guns really is it. It is about humanity. Football is a continually evolving narrative that you can become invested in and feel a real part of. There is so much more to football than the gam itself. As I said, it is a culture. It is, therefore, ridiculous to ridicule football culture as an uninitiated outsider. It just makes you seem like someone who has missed the point. A real shame, if you have, as Elis explains, not experienced the joy and pain of real football culture.
@TheAlmightyAss Жыл бұрын
Comparing football to the trenches of world war one I think sums up how deluded and stupid football people are. The thuggery, the racism, the sexism, the childlike worship of millionaire rapists kicking a ball around and tribal hatred of people who support a different team is incredibly destructive. And yes, I grew up loving football as a child and teenager. Obviously as an adult I realised what it was and the people who worshipped at the altar of football.
