A U.S. Coast Guard team is preparing for the possibility of a future chemical weapons attack by taking part in an elaborate drill out on the water. CBS News' Carter Evans went along to see how they would respond to terrorists.

@@jaluntaylor4596 Long story short I made the mistake of saying I had asthma as a toddler. Coast guard and the Army shut me down

@@RedRedMCmusic ahh u can still join the process is just gunna take a year or two... have to get waivers medical documents and blah blah blah. Then you have to wait for them to review each paper you submit each time you submit a package it takes up to 2 months for them to review it.

Realistically how long does it take for coast guardsmen to earn a spot in one of these teams? I’m gonna join as a 19 year old so what is the time frame like for a young recruit like me

@@alexecheverria8971 Enlistment / Basic (8 weeks) Nonrate time (6-18 months) ME A school (10 weeks) Either go directly from there or spend 2-4 years in another unit getting experience beforehand.

Go Guardians, now only if the DSF gets the funding it needs in order to be a full spectrum asset to DHS DOD and DOJ and stop being afraid of being "Guardians" These Officers don't have to be SEALS SOF Raiders Rangers or any of the others, just be true and the best St what they do Law enforcement operations and that covers a lot from CT to basic maritime security, so no need to pretend to be something you are not, just be the best at what you do and let your deeds speak for themselves. Go Guardians
