the first time i started from mawson dock was also amazing, you exit staion and u are greeted with a stunning gas planet with rings beautifully lit with light from one side, it took my breath away... and the automatic docking sequence was perfect...

I just wish I could go back to the day I started playing elite, grind didn't matter. It didn't matter what ship you owned, or how much upgrades you have into it. It didn't matter if you were rich or good at PvP. The only thing that matter was being stupified by the looks and the inmensity of outer space, the cool FSD secuences and jumps. The excitement and fear of wanting to know what was beyond 500 ly away. Man, those were the days.

I see it again and again - people hate on games - people say that they aren't what they used to be, that the experience isn't what it used to be... etc. - and they do the same thing with life too. And then I realized that it is all part of the same phenomena: People think that games, life experiences, the quality of existence has changed, become stale, boring, insufficient - and they blame devs, the way of the world, whatever it is that has deprived them of "the good old days" - but the irony is that it isn't the things that we used to love which have changed. It's that we lost our imagination along the way. We stopped believing. We stopped being in awe. And the beauty is, we can get it back too. Embrace your inner child, lost sense of youth - whatever you want to call it: Because when I first discovered the gateway to another world on the other side of a computer screen, it was on an Apple II with a black and green screen, no onboard memory, and 5.25" floppy discs. ;-)

@@RaccoonRepublic It kinda sucks. I keep hearing people complain that a game needs them to "grind". Well, don't. Just play the thing and get yourself a Cobra or Viper and do stuff - don't turn your game into a job. If it stops being fun, put it away. You don't owe a game a darn thing.

Yeh, i think it's better to replace the docking computer with a bit of engineered armour in your car. That's +250 hp to your car's hull you know

After LTDs got nerfed, I took my rich ass to Colonia in my Anaconda, had my Type-10 ferried there, and haven't played since. It's a beautiful game, but the grind is not enjoyable.

I live on my carrier now. Stopped using autodocking for a while now. This made me remember the time when my brother recommended the game to me. A time when i bounty hunted with an asp explorer with 6 multicannons, A time when i called Apek my home, having what i thought the best shop in the game for some time. A time when i was trying to max out the influence in a system to see what comes of it. A time when i got my first anaconda, went afk and got killed. A time when i found out engineering is a thing. A time when i lost my conda for the 3rd time and got picked up by BushRat from RAT-PAC. A time when i was having the time of my life with people i just met. A time when i got interested in thargoids and had the time of my life with OTHER people i just met, 1-3 wings in one instance against a Hydra was pretty fun. A time when i finally unlocked all engineers, spending 1 - 3 hours just to wait for my heavy ship to arrive while traveling engineer to engineer on a fast jumper. A time when i got promoted to a higher role in squadron. A time when i *_asked for a small favour of 2000000000 credits_* and sure enough _*they gave them to me*_. A time when I was the one helping people, just like bush and other RAT-PAC members helped me when i lost my conda for the 3rd time. A time when i had the BEST time with my new carrier i called GRIMM'S REST 9km-vhj. A time when i carrier 7 people to engineering material sites 1800ly away from AY Indi. A time when i got the permit to Sol and saw earth mars and other planets in game. A time when i was searching for the cassini probe god knows where. A time when i started solo-ing thargoids and getting mad cash off it. A time when i started watching lore videos and exploring the Guardians. A time when i participated in my first squadron war. A time when i died to gankers. A time when i got into pvp and started experimenting with engineering and tactics. A time when i saw my first blackhole in Maia. A time when i fully engineered a corvett and a cutter, one for pvp, one for thargoids. A time when i made my krait mk2 hunter and doing a bit of tomfoolery like pulling people out of supercruise just to repair them with drones, or tracking one person to see how long will it take to notice me following. A time when i got Voice attack and star jumping never felt better. A time when i got my first hyperdiction. A time when i started helping others with engineering by either bringing the materials like meta alloy to people, or people to engineers. A time when i intercepted a youtuber making a video. A time when i had 16 fully engineered ships on my carrier for everything i needed. A time when my hour counter hit 2000 hours. A time when i was cooperating with people to experiment with engineering. A time when i cooperated with people to record sound effects for a little project of mine that i still haven't completed. A time when i was suggesting improvements to our rpac discord server. A time when i took a 2day trip to colonia on a rpac member's carrier who liked to take people to colonia and other places. A time when i spent 6 hours to get to Hutton Orbital to get my FREE ANACONDA. A time when odyssey came out and I couldn't play it because my pc was trash. A time when i got to play odyssey propperly and had a GOOD time with it. A time when i hear the new voice acting for russian ship's voice and saw the new fsd jump animation. A time when i got to walk around my own carrier and saw the first person animation of the carrier jumping. A time when i heard the excitement and saw the reactions of new players seeing and jumping on a carrier for their first time. A time when i tried to be an explorer. A time when i got elite in trading and went to Jason's memorial for the first time. A time when i withnessed the busiest starport in Colonia. A time when i was bored and jumping system to system to find someone to tomfoolerise. A time when i was giving random players my custom missions and paying for them. Elite dangerous is a good game.
