Yes, it can and/or will. The heat build-up is insane.

You need to use it properly, in short bursts, not continuously. A good rule of thumb is that when the ship's heat reaches 100%, you turn it off, wait for the cooldown, and then activate it again. You'll still get to your target enormously faster.

@@AndrewRyan11 you cannot maintain a conversation. Crew command roster and some other elements are very good interactions. But talking like this, no... Even a language model takes 18 seconds to answer... And that's hot and miss. We're still some years away from real Ai being fast. We can simulate... But mostly for commands... These videos are to show character creation - How we shape a personality, give them traits.

@@hcsvoicepacks i figured as much, pretty demanding to run a LLM while playing and executing rapid commands. Still looks awesome, I'd appreciate it if you did some general user interaction videos but if it's true to the video I'm going to bite

The only reason Frontier are now working on this game is because their golden child Warhammer game failed hard. If that game had hit the big time, Elite would have been left to rot. Remember that.
