Capital ship battles seem boring. What I find most sad is that once the imperial ship warped out, the federal ship kept firing where the other used to be.

Something worth pointing out is during a war this dips the influence of the faction in control of the CS significantly. A great time investment for and BGS'ers out there, as if you're quick it only takes 2 minutes to take out all the heat sinks. another point is their damage output. Maybe majestic's are weaker, but if you're in a CZ by yourself, with no CS support for your side, you will be destroyed long before you can take out even half the sinks.

Twice I've responded to Distress Calls to find a damaged Farragut being abducted by a pirate Farragut. I always manage to take out all the pirate fighters and escorts but never been able to take to the pirate Farragut itself. I pilot an Imperial Clipper. All that ships guns trained on you is just too much for my primary ship. BUT I also think that, that is how it should be.

I just jumped in on a class 4 distress call. Turns out it was a pirate Farragut in Chakobog. I start firing on the pirate escorts, having a little trouble with one npc who was extremely adept at staying in my python's blind spot, but managing to finish him off after getting frustrated and boosting away to joust. A second wave of pirates spawns in at the same time my comp goes "Capital class signature detected." Out jumps a second Farragut, telefragging one pirate, and firing on the other three. At this point, I'm laughing, being currently allied with the Federation. Then the game lags, and the allied Farragut disappears, only to reappear around my ship instead, instantly telefragging me. Thanks for ruining what would have been the coolest moment I'd had in game yet. -_-

Anyone else find the Mu Koji ''Con-munity goal'' a tad difficult? I went in to the convoy meeting zones for some military tonnage, I also tried to look for targets in FSD mode for hours. I consider myself a noob even with +100hrs of gameplay and I failed badly: -24,000,000 Cr down before giving-up. (Its always been the FD way to obscure the hints and tips and instructions for this game across 100's of youtube vids, multiple fan sites and NEVER in one useful updated location e.g. In-Game)

So do you get credits for making capital ships warp out? Because if you do then how much credits would you get from destroying both capital ships? And if you attack a capital ship does that affect your reputation with that faction? I want to get an imperial clipper and then just do missions for either side because it’s really hard to choose.

I believe you can find them in conflict zones where the major factions are involved, so not just a civil war. I could be wrong though!

Search for a system at War. Jump in and find a conflict zone marked as High Intensity. There are always two factions fighting. If one of them is sided with the Empire and one with the Federation, there should always be some sort of capital ship there, be it the Farragut, or the MCI, or both of them. If not, they usually jump in seconds after as seen in the video

I think you have more success if you search for Conflict Zones at the border of Imperial/Federal controlled space, but don't take this one for granted, never tested it myself :D

it's impossible to ever get federation ships, the conflict zones are always too unbalanced. They spawn like 2 imperial ships against 10 federation ships plus the capital ship (that is way more powerful than the empire one) and it turns into a suicide mission... I wish it were better balanced especially in Maia !

Because it's a game. Why have a glass canopy on a spaceship instead of dozens of cameras amalgamating an image from X-ray through UV to "see" the best image of what you want. I had that tech available to me in the AF a few years ago, but no hyperdrive or laser guns. :)

I believe it is stated in the original kickstarter program .pdf somewhere, that there actually wouldn't be any sound if it wasn't for the system built into the canopy which analyzes your surroundings and creates according sounds to the stuff happening around you, e.g. engines, fsd, laser fire, cannons, ... When your canopy is destroyed you kinda hear it as well, since every sound is really dumbed down and you only hear your breathing.

couldn't you just destroy their weapons, and let a friendly capital ship finish them?

It probably wouldn't work based on what I have seen, as the heat relays are located on on both sides of the ship and the capital ships stay in the same orientation. I'm not sure just reducing its hull to 0% makes it route either, also combat bond pay out for you!
