Never put corrosive on your largest multicannon. The effect is the same regardless of the size of the multi, so always put Corrosive on your smallest multicannon.

It reduces the armor hardness so it's more efficient on the large hardpoint

@@CombreKon - Huh uh. It doesn't reduced armor hardness for just that one gun; it reduces it for the whole ship. All your guns that strike the ship get the benefit, and it's the same regardless of the size of the gun.

@@florbfnarb7099 I think what Kon is getting at is that the multi-cannons become more efficient per size class increase due to the fact that the damage increases while the fire rate decreases, making the ammo efficiency of larger multi-cannons far superior and thus better for the corrosive exp eff because of the more staggered shots, allowing for more efficient uptime of the effect.

There are higher threat than 4 for wing missions. They generally have semi engineered 3 vultures, equipped with phasing sequence beams, that start to eat the hull even when the shield is up. The main target will be an anaconda or FDL, with very reinforced shielding, and often also phasing sequence weaponry.

@@thetryhardgamer8387 yea this one is a threat 4 because its a large group or low rank/weak bounties on a massacre mission, not an assassination mission Edit: for reference, you can do this in almost any ship if it has a viable combat build. Wing assassination missions are the real challenging ones.

Come to the Pleiades. There's heaps of threat 6 wing missions for all to enjoy. I do them in my Chieftain or in my Corvette.

My only input would be maybe d rate your life support, maybe even sensor's and smaller power plant(unless ur keeping extra power for when u engineer your shield boosters) to help lower ur weight so you can more take advantage of that high speed and agility

this is probably one of the best pve build videos ive seen on yt. Its cool to see that people use different stuff than the usual multi/beam bs. its just so boring to see everyone flying around with that. However i think it still needs some tweaks to make it perfect: The mulits are perfectly fine, i would've probably done the same but the 2 seekers kinda confuse me. Why didnt you just put class 3 seekers on there ? its twice the ammo. Also i would definitely go for high cap with one drag and one emissive. Drag prevents the ship from boosting and emissive prevents it from disappearing from your radar. Those are the 2 must have experimentals when it comes to seekers. The utility mounts are not too bad, however you forgot a very important thing, you only went for shield strength and not for resistance. This is not as bad as the other way around but still, no build should have less than 30% thermal resistance, the only reason you almost lost your shields in that fight was that you had negative or close to zero thermal resistance. Thermal damage is by far the most important to protect against, i usually go for 2 thermal boosters and the rest heavy duty, that gets me enough resistance. On pure pve builds you can actually go for full resistance by engineering your generator thermal resistant and all your boosters resistance augmented. (that can get you to over 70% resistances across the board on big ships) For the core, whenever you put reactives on, i strongly recommend engineering them lightweight. The reason for that is better resistances and way lower weight. There are exeptions but especially on a mamba, weight is pretty important. Youre gonna end up with a lack in thermal resistance again but you can easily fix that by installing a hull reinforcement package of any size and engineering it to thermal, that will even out your resistances and give you similar hp to a heavy duty hull, while having lower weight. The optional internals are fine, just know that a class 3 bank basically does nothing to your shields, one bank restores 70mj, you have 1600 so thats not even 15% of one ring. youre better off with either going for a class 4 shield and getting class 5 bank or keeping that class 5 shield and getting a class 4 bank, also take A banks as they regenerate more per bank, which is better for heat dmg and weight. What a great answer, thanks for this write-up! I found this as I was looking for a fun PvE Mamba build, something that would change things for me as I usually combat with my Cutter w/ 3x bursts + 4x frags. This build you linked here seems to fit the bill! Would this work using bi-weave shields as well? I use prismatic on my cutter and not sure I wanna go through the process of getting them again.

A lot people seem to dismiss this ship, but it just looks too cool to pass up. The metallic paint jobs, the sleek look, and one of most sensibly laid out and best looking cockpits in the game.

Ive heard the Mamba is not so good but I like this . I might get one . I may swap the fule scoop with the SCB though . What shield does it have ? A prismatic ? Some other variations like swap the vehicle for hull and module reinforcement . I also have lots of resources for ammo

i love the mamba too. i run a similar hardpoint loadout to you, but I throw on Burst Lasers instead of your Missile Racks. Beam *Laser's* are a poor choice for the Mamba because of how easily it can overheat, but the Burst Lasers run less hot. The missiles for enemies shields/hull are a great idea I am going to have to try though.

The reason people say not to put corrosive on your biggest gun is because oversize is a percentage damage increase and you want that on your biggest gun

umm its massacre wing, so one can do that in almost any ship solo u just need to go to a res site....... if u wanna test something fun on the mamba go cannon on huge and the rest Fragment Cannons the small one I had corrosive on sense they hit first, so all the others do more damage ^^ considering how most of them npcs are novice and compentent u can probably do the same in a Vulture if u are a good pilot ^^ what ticks me off a bit is the way u fly it. try flying it with more alfa damge and in a hit and run style and u will one salvo pop some ships :)

I've got a 4A multi cannon also with two 3A seeker missile launchers and two 1A beam lasers which I primarily use to get their shields down. Just unlocked Todd McQuinn to engineer the multi cannon but with the overcharge mod, grade 2 and Marco Qwent for the power plant and distributor. So addicted to this ship and can't wait to unlock engineering for missiles. I'm now a Post Captain, one Federal rank below Rear Admiral, then I'll get the Corvette. Just curious, did you try to get max jump range on your Anaconda? I'm using the DBX and finished fully engineering it including a class 4 guardian FSD booster with a minimum jump range of 72.38ly. Great video man, I'm jealous. Oh yeah, I just flew to the Wellington system in the Witch Head nebula and ran into two Thargoid ships with a threat level of 7.

Thanks for the comment! No, I haven't worked too much on trying to outfit the Anaconda for max jump range. I'm more of a combat person myself and shield boosters as well as weapons really take a toll on jump range.

Ok i play only few months but can i ask why Mamba ? seems to me FDL is better ship .... speed is only stat mamba has some sort of advantage but not in maneuverability so why not FDL for this build ?

Ur correct. Bit the fdl is just too boring and everyone uses it. I prefer the Mamba, but it will be a hard fight to beat a fdl with any Mamba build. Also the offset seating position drives me crazy.

Yeah when compared to the FDL, the mamba falls short. That's just because FDEV doesn't want to upset the ree kids who sunk a ton of time getting legacy God rolls on reactive surface composites for the FDL. So they couldn't dethrone the king of combat. But that's only when compared to the FDL... Compare the mamba to literally any other ship and it is extraordinary. Plus it's cockpit wont give people with OCD an aneurysm...

You don't lose more ammo depending on which multicannon slot it is, but its better to arrange your engineering in a more practical way. You want to keep single weapon damage boosts on the largest weapons, and full utility on the smallest weapons. Running incendiary on the huge multi means you will shred shields MUCH faster than running it how you have it now. Also the corrosive boost ONLY applies to the hull. Honestly, I think it would be better to keep all multicannons rather than running downsized rocket pods.

if you want a build that destroys ships with ease, do fragment cannons. double shot or overcharged. take the python or kraight II. insta-kill small ships and most medium ships.

Do this with the alliance chieftain and you just straight up one shot most ships, I think it's like a 2 or 3 shot on an anaconda

Reactive armor is weighing down ur mamba, itd be better to keep the stock lightweight with HD mod ur counteracting the strength of the mamba, lightweight ur life support as even if life support is sniped u still have 25 mins to finish the fight or get back to the station

The mamba is not meant for hull tanking, like it’s sister ship the FDL is meant to be a shield tank and having some armor helps counteract phasing through the shields but should not be relied on to get through a fight.

The strength of the mamba being speed, yes. But you lose only 12/13m/s cruising/boost speed and and combined 3° of maneuverability. Reactive is worth that for over double the cushion when your space condom breaks

low ranking npc's dont deal out much damage and blow up as soon as you sneeze on them... you may want to try your luck in a CZ or a threat 6 or 7 in systems under pirate attack - its way more fun and in a mamba you can boom and zoom to stay out of trouble - a fun mix is mines and frags!

Yes, Absolutely. As a matter of fact, Prismatics would fair better than regular shields. Just keep in mind that your shield regeneration is going to be extremely low. Also, keep an eye on your power usage, Prismatics may throw you over how much power you have.

Say what they will about the added weight of armored power plant and reactive armor but when my baby goes the ball dressed to kill, she's packing plenty of condoms

i use double shot frag cannons one maybe two volleys dead no matter what it is done and done. Love the Mamba but I would never sell an anaconda for one.

You should swap your huge multi canon for a huge beam laser that runs efficient mod, I'm a mamba pilot that runs a build similar to yours but I run 1 huge beam, 2 large multis & 2 small heat seekers

Beams use way to much energy from ur weapons pip. Use phasing pulse and u get same dps with a much less energy use. As for Using missiles they are rendered useless with just a point defense. Stick with lasers and multi for max dps for minimum energy draw.

@@Kopp203 current mamba has 2 large multi overcharged auto loader. (I just like auto loader) experimental can be what ever u chose. 2 small rail feedback cascade. Huge beam overcharged termal vent all gimbal. Except the rails of course... It's PvE, with all shield boosters so it's 3100+ mega Jules shield with 50+% resistance across the board. In combat u fly pips 3-0-3 90% of the time u can keep them their. Also it's a weapon focused power distributor. With quick charge. It's good and if u get into pvp u can survive no problems... Good luck.

Let's be real, for NPC combat any over engineered ship will fit, thats one of the issues with ED, sure you can create better combat zones builds but at the end it really doesnt matter, put some plasmas on an FDL (engineered of course) and you already have the best pvp combat ship in ED, there are some great pilots in "gank/pvp" systems who plays other mid ships thats true but at the end an skilled FDL plasma/rail cmdr can outplay anything, you can easily outplay bigger ships like engineered corvettes, thats why after a lot of time playing ED i quitted combat, its too riged and that makes it boring, in the other hand exploration... PFFFFFFF after you made your billions this is the only way you can really enjoy this game, or ganking new players if youre a piece of shit xd

@@iansmith3301 im not that good with fixed flags. I found i have a lot more time on target with gimballed. Obviously you might be a better pilot than me so fixed might be OK for you. The pacifier frags are fixed with a longer range and tighter spread than normal frags

10-15 ships firing at you? Really? I counted 7, then police came and helped you, otherwise you would be dead. This build is not meant to engage multiple hostiles. You were lucky there weren't 2 Anacondas ... If you want damage, PA's and shock cannons I recommend. Only 3 multi's are useless for quick destroy. Missiles are good, but for 1v1, not 1v7. Shock Cannons are hull eaters, but need to be unlocked at Technology Brokers (Humans). Either use 1 Multi C4 with all pulses rapid fire, or mix with 2 L1 beams + Rapid Pulses and 1 C4 PA long range. And I haven't seen any FA Off, they all outmaneuvered you. For this types of missions, FDL or Gunship is more adequate. 4 Rapid Pulses + 1 C4 Multi on FDL, or, all multis on Gunship overcharged with incendiary and autoloaders. o7 :)

Second build video of yours I’ve watched, and man these are terrible builds. I’m triple Elite in the game with a thousand hours, and tons of PVP experience. I’d only suggest these builds to people I was looking to stomp. Hardpoints on this are so jacked up it’s hilarious.
