Just a reminder that systems within about 20 ly of the anarchy farm should all have on-foot missions leading there. (Some of those have large stations, for Cmdrs who prefer to fly ships bigger than the average Ody settlement)

It's been a while since I've done any serious BGS work, but weren't those missions introduced to give anarchy factions a way to lift their influence? As of today (9th July) the anarchy faction has been lifted to 9.5% after only 2 days. The hard work to create this one stop shop is now being un-done, and the analysis intended to keep the faction at 1% isn't being honoured by the player base. Something broke. Of course there might be a group actively trying to break this, and if so then their efforts seem to be outweighing that of the larger community.

Kudos to the Cmdrs who managed to keep the Anarchy faction viable. Obtaining the system assets while managing to get the influence at 1% is no mean feat.

Thanks once again for the weekly news video (even if it's been a quiet week). I've been doing AX settlement restore missions lately, they're good for Odyssey materials too, and often you can visit the Revenants. In my opinion Elite is in a good place right now, there's plenty of underrated content already there, and it's also the summertime in the UK, so I'm not concerned with the lull before Update 16. If FDev are launching a couple of other games, it's understandable that their focus is on them right now. I believe Elite is FDev's pet project, so they won't be done with it any time soon!

@@tcb133 Check mission boards in a human controlled system within 20Ly of a Thargoid Controlled system. I've taken them from HIP 20491. Make sure the mission destination is in a Thargoid Controlled system (shows as green on the Thargoid War map).

I created my own odyssey mat farming system about a year and a half ago. I transferred 15 settlements to a native anarchy faction and have farmed away at my pleasure without any interference or concern. I’m not advertising the system though hah. It’s not hard to do.

After a few days of observation, it would appear that the anarchy faction present in Material farming system is gaining influence, not losing it, and has already engaged in conflict with another faction. Either the BGS theory that the 1% influence equilibrium would be self-sustaining was flawed, or we are looking at a deliberate attempt at sabotage by *Certain Members of the Community* after the system gained publicity.

I did a similar thing in a few other systems around the bubble, some more stable than others, but kudos to these guys for pulling it off AND getting the anarchy into full system control at 1% as well! If you want somewhere closer to Shinrarta, my latest one was in Timbalderis 17ly away where the constant traffic and trend towards beating the hell out of anarchies should keep them at 1%.

Hey, thanks ;) Definitely recommend giving the ground work a go... Make sure you start with pre- upgraded kit.... Lvl2 at the minimum but lvl3 stuff is available if you look. Get yourself a good maverick suit and that will get you everything else :)

Am pretty new to ED. Still flying solo. Most of my creds come from collecting/selling bio samples. Been trying to grind mats. But I'm very very bad at foot missions. I almost always get caught and killed in all mission types except zero-threat delivery missions. I do watch tutorials for foot missions. And they make it look easy enough. But I still manage to die almost every time. So I been trying to upgrade my gear by system-hopping and looking for ;level 3 guns and suits with a useful mod on them. Inara is helping me local systems with an "average" chance at finding those. I have a few more stations to check. And then I'll be heading for that new Mat-Farm system to try getting good. Thanks for letting me know about that amazing opportunity. I was tired of waking up on a prison ship; especially since my game is bugged and I can't use Apex to leave the prison ships.

@@oneofdavidsmightymen I always thought it was funny when some of the more notorious pirate/ganker groups got into doing BGSing, and a bunch of players decided to descend upon them and attack them and pound them into the dirt, with reasons like (paraphrasing) "I can't fight them in PvP but I want to hurt them in any way I can". I was just baffled 'cause like... if they're tied up doing BGS work then they're not in Deciat ganking, why would you want to STOP them doing BGS?

Correction: factions enter a conflict when reaching similar influence level, providing 1-this level is 7% or above and 2- at least one system asset is on the line (Coriolis-Orbis-Ocellus-outpost-planetary base, Installation, Horizon or Odyssey settlement....)

Really want to see a paid expansion at this point. New planet types to land on, new interstellar phenomena, maybe a new ship or two. But I'm losing hope given the distraction of other titles FDEV are releasing.

I suspect we are getting that next year. Age of Sigmar is now done a new one of them won't be out until 2027 at the earliest if it sales well. There will obviously be some DLCs. The franchise might move over to their new Canadian studio to manage and develop along with warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate 2. They are scaling up over there. An concentrating one whole studio on strategy games make sense to me, whilst their Oxford studio focuses on simulation games. F1 manager 2024 will obviously be in the works already. Frontier financial states 2 paid games to release every year. So that leave one slot empty for the next year. But no full games have been announced yet. So I suspect they will rely on paid DLCs for Planet ZOO, Elite Dangerous and Age of Sigmar to fill the void. An get back to their 2 full game releases a year in 2025. Age of Sigmar was delayed by a year. They also are rumour to have the license to produce one more jurassic park game.

When the anarchy faction is at war (as it was as posted your comments), looting is harder, as the settlements may not have lootable locations (as in the lockers will be opened and empty). The effort from players to keep the faction at 1% influence has stopped, so they went into war state. Either someone pushes them down to 1% influence (or at least out of war state) or it won't work.

Well taking a break from the game till they add something interesting ,so far it is summer and most people mind is on vacation but it is a tradition in FDEV| to leave alone Elite do dabble with other stuff...ED needs its own dedicated only team if it wants to carry on and evolve,assigning the allready small team for this game to other stuff i am not comfortable with....Thank you Buur ,hope you and fam are well.

I must admit I am taking a break. I spent a long time farming the titans- for not much financial award- but enjoyed the experience and game play and it was fun. But after the cg nothing seems to have happened (other than getting the liveries) and that’s been disappointing. And for the first time in several years I am taking a break. One thing that should be addressed: Even though the anarchy faction will not fine or put a bounty on your head, your Rep will dramatically fall towards hostile if you repeat the attack. And when you are considered hostile by the faction, they will immediately shoot at you without any warning, making very difficult even to approach the settlements. And what's more bad news is that it will be very hard to regain your Rep with them because most of the missions they offer are illegal missions like wet works.

Settlement scans and generator kills offer fairly decent rep rewards and payouts, and they're only... slightly illegal. You'll likely get a trespass bounty but you won't get notoriety, and you can usually pay off the bounty at the interstellar factors at the anarchy base where you took the mission.

Everyone CAN get Odyssey - it's often on sale for about $14. But I think you may be confused with the 'everyone gets to play in the Odyssey Live galaxy' which arrived last November, when Horizons split into 3.8 and 4.0.

When fighting Thargoid scouts, upon the appearance of an Interceptor, there is now no warning of the energy surge, is this intentional? I noticed that, when intercepted by an Interceptor, that the Energy surge warning does happen and you can use your counter measures accordingly. I'm finding this annoying to say the least!

The Steam sale has done absolutely nothing to change the player numbers, and based on the reviews FDev have absolutely no interest in resolving the Steam integration issues that have plagued the game since it first launched there. I can't wait for them to drop support (again) for these new games when they fail to sell as expected. I've followed this trainwreck long enough. Best of luck with the channel - I hope you manage to transition to a more worthwhile game smoothly when the time comes. FDev doesn't deserve dedicated creators like yourself.

Every settlement just about is in war now becuase of a group of cmdrs who live to make everyone else's life as annoying as possible in this game. The settlements that are not will give you bounties for attacking and yes you can get a bounty in an anarchy system because elite is cool like that. Just picked up X4 on sale think I'm going to play that for a few months to years instead of continuing to grind for manufacturing instructions all the time. The system they set up here where they are constantly stuffing our throats with everything but that one data mat and making it annoying to get has gotten old fast.

So let’s see how many more updates you get after 16 and 17 …… particularly with a falling player base (which will drop even more dramatically after the release of Starfield). Btw …. I’ve been playing ED since Beta and bought the lifetime expansion package …….. when did you start (I’ll bet within last 6 months if you’re honest). Will it last forever? obviously not, but we can play the game if we want to while it exists. It's no more complicated than that. Players numbers for ED have been slightly growing over the last few months with approx 170-175k log-ins on average per day. Fdev would definitely want more, but all this talk of a dead game is pretty dumb really. I don't know why you feel you can 'pull rank' by stating how long you've been playing a game. That's some really strange nonsense to me.

I agree. This game is stalled despite the minor tweaks and quality of life improvements. I stopped playing once FDEV announced the mystery update was delayed for "further investigation". Maybe starfield will be a wake up call for FDEV.? Time will tell.

@@spartansmsu93noob54 It wasn't a mystery update, it was a reworking of an existing feature (with almost everyone assuming it would be a different way to engineer ships, perhaps by doing missions or being able to trade ship materials.) Somehow that tweak has morphed into a complete new game feature, with people expecting ship interiors, thargoid pets, base building or whatever. No wonder they delayed it.
