I can't watch all of this, but I do wish I had seen this decades ago. He's hitting the ball below the centerline which allows for a longer carry.

That second swing is just scary. That ball went out so quickly...incredible!

i always noticed that the best power hitters weren't the strongest or the biggest (but it helps a lot) but the bat speed/wrist turn over generates the true power...I have seen 70 year old guys hit the ball 350 and as I watched him hit (Davey Reed), his hands were just so quick through the zone...i love these videos

Thanks so much for watching. You are correct. Quick wrists and hands can make all the difference no matter your overall strength. That being said, being super strong doesn't hurt! So glad you enjoy these types of videos. Anyone else's swing you would like to see us breakdown?

@@LeagueNightSoftball a guy who is from my hometown (sorry to name drop but) one of thee best power hitters ever, Brett Helmer and his overlap grip would be a good one...I have seen him hit balls at our fields where others have never dared to go...LOL

Brett Helmer is a great suggestion. Anyone that has a signature model bat was doing something right! We will add him to the list.

You should do a swing breakdown for Brandon Streets

Thanks for watching Jason! We can definitely add Brandon Streets, 2022 Conference USSSA OBP Champion, to the shortlist of players to breakdown moving forward. What is it about Brandon's swing you are most interested in seeing analyzed?

@@LeagueNightSoftball Streets' front foot movement is a bit unique, i'd say? It's more similar to what Cam does (and Van Bogaert ofc) except it almost looks like robotic when he does it.

@@LeagueNightSoftball not surprised since 99% of softball players think bat speed is everything, yet those 99% don't hit the ball like this.

How do you calculate RP7?
@LeagueNightSoftball
@LeagueNightSoftball Жыл бұрын
21 / (1-OBP) x SLG / 3 = RP7. It's actually really useful if you keep team stats. Gives a great overview of how the team is performing offensively.

@@LeagueNightSoftball Do these numbers (21 and 3) change for the team version or does it just end up using the team OBP and team SLG with the same formula?

It all stays the same whether you are calculating for an individual or the whole team.

Bending the knees to try and keep the swing plane flatter.
@LeagueNightSoftball

Definitely. We've been noticing more and more pros utilizing thier knees to adjust thier height as compared to the ball. We are both looking to implement this into our own swings.

@@LeagueNightSoftball If done properly these will be some of the longest balls you will ever hit. The extra distance the bat travels from hands high to the lower pitch IMO adds to the momentum of the swing. In addition it allows for the same swing path for ant pitch greatly increasing consistency.

Does this level softball always just groove the pitches in there..looks like a 6-8ft arc..is that accurate? And what type balls and bats do they use? Just curious because they seem to give such an advantage to the big hitters...thanks..😊

First year player got about 100 swings total in games and BP combined. Got my pop toss the other day and these are some swings from my first session. Any tips? I cant make consistant contact unless im taking alot of speed off my swing. (got one attempt at a live BP cut swing in there too! lol kzbin.info/www/bejne/h52po3eJl7WiZqM
