People have the misunderstanding that more muscles means you are stronger. Many of these guys didn't gain it naturally, they use things to blow their muscles up. So they look really big but more often then not, those muscles aren't trained that well thus they can't lift as much as you think they can by the looks of it. why rethink? its just different sports. both are lifting stuff but with a different focus. its like comparing a marathon runner with a sprinter both run.

Most guys just want to look swole and shredded. Strength and size (and to some aesthetics) is much more important than actual strength. But Anotoly is a damn freak I must say. Could well be the strongest pound for pound man on earth.

That's such a white guy take. They teach you you're special, the master of your own destiny, owe nothing to no one, and pump you full of individualism, then you're confronted with your shortcomings when you inevitably fall short, and live a life of status anxiety and insecurity. These are Arabs and Indians, Easterners, different universe. You can see that they're actually impressed with him, become friendly, and some even pick up the mop and clean instead of him. They're not thinking "what the heck am I doing in the gym if the skinny cleaner can lift like me". Break free my man, it's a big world out there.

I was a janitor at my gym for 4 months. I worked very hard and did more than I should have because I really appreciate how the gym helps me mentally. I know that it’s like that for others as well, and I wasn’t expecting anything in return for doing my job, but maybe 3 people ever thanked me out of the hundreds that saw me regularly and it made me feel worthless. I’ll probably never forget the faces of the few that were kind to me. I really appreciate your comment it made my day.

While it is a wonderful harmless prank and honestly I really enjoyed how well all the bodybuilders took it. It's also a great example that muscle modeling for size doesn't translate to actual muscle force applied through the skeleton which is where true strength comes from. Anatoly's muscle fibers are dense and he's learned to have the muscle memory to have all the muscles of his body contributing to the lift together through his skeleton.

Some people are just built differently. He is a freak of nature. Less than 1% of men on earth could achieve his strength while being 170lbs.
@tylisirn Жыл бұрын
Yup, training for pure strength and training for looks are two completely different things. It's not to say that bodybuilders aren't strong, but they aren't as strong as they absolutely could be. At the extreme you can see this when you compare the world's strongest man competitors' builds with Mr Olympia competitors' builds. The strongmen actually need to be as strong as they can be, while the bodybuilders actual strength is only a distant secondary concern.

This reminds me of a petite lady who took a second-shift job as a cleaner at a Gold's Gym. When she started, she had an unremarkable physique. I was surprised to see that she was very muscular after 2 years at that job. She didn't deliberately exercise, but got ripped because she had to reshelf dumbbells and barbells left by body builders. LOL !
