I agree. I bought a piano this year. It took me 160 hours to learn entertainer. Easy version. It will take me 10 years to learn this one

@@rippertrain Is that your first rag piece you have learned or the first piano piece ever you have learned. Because if you want to learn a rag for beginners then i recommend Swipesy by Scott Joplin. Speaking here as an old guy! who learned to play some of Joplin's rags when your age.... (and can STILL play some of them).. I think this is really really good. Delightful ! You are finding bits to additionally syncopate beyond what was written. Without overdoing it. Great touch. With musical humour, too! And the effect is really enjoyable. And as another commenter has said, I also believe you are playing just as Joplin would have intended. After watching this I sat down and (it's been years) - my fingers themselves remembered the first part and the last part. Now I just have to work on the middle again.

I must say you did a fantastic job! I can tell you’ve must have put hours of work into it as it shows through your flawless performance. I didn’t spot a single mistake coming from a Joplin fan such as myself. And this piece is also one of my favourites of his. I’m impressed by your level of musicianship when it involves licensing and ad libbing. I could clearly hear your extra voicing you added in both hands, but particularly the right. It really helps to make the piece your own a bit, without changing the original mood or intention that Joplin was aiming to capture. In your case, you pulled it off perfectly, which is part of what makes your music so original. Even when you’re playing somebody else’s piece. Well done. 👏
