Elite Terrain bow review at Coyote Creek Archery

I got my Terrain beginning of 2023. Easy to setup and tune. Build quality is ok, but not more. For example is the riser not flat on the rear stabilizer mount. As a result the side bar bracket kept coming loose again and again. Paint on the cams chips easy. Unfortunately the strings are a bummer. The yoke serving unraveld within the first 200 shots. Fixed it and went on shooting. Half a year of constant 3 D training, tournaments and so on the lower cam ate it's way half way thru the buss cable serving due to rub/contact to the module. Had to retune the bow on a regular basis every two months or so. Strings not so great, everything else is fine with this bow.

Sorry to hear that, did you talk to your Elite dealer about the riser spot where the back bar mounts? That sounds like a warranty issue.

It was my only bow at that time. I filed that spot flat, problem solved.

Choosing between Elite and Bowtech, how big would you say the Dead Lock cam system would be in your decision? It seams to me if you liked both brands after shooting, the ease of adjustment would be a huge factor.

On the flagship models, Elite has the SET system for tuning as well. To me the Deadlock system is huge! It makes it very easy for fine tuning, especially when shooting fixed blade broadheads at 30-40 yards.

​​​@@coyotecreekarcherycan this bow go below its draw weight range? I have the 55-70lbs draw weight terrain and I was wondering if I could turn it down to 45lbs? cause of slight shoulder problems

@@houseatreides6683 Unfortunately no. The limb bolt is designed to only be backed out a certain number of turns. You might get away with 52-53 lbs, but turning it down below that would be unsafe, and would void the warranty.

Is the Terrain a dealer item only ?

Do you know if they will be making the Ember in LH later this year as well ? Looking for a bow for my mom to get back in to shooting and think she would love it

I don't know for sure, but I hope so! I do know that the Basin and Terrain will both be available in LH this fall.

@@coyotecreekarchery ok I’ll ask at there booth at the ASA later this week I’m LH and would have one myself if so I’m my opinion it’s the best current bow they make extremely close to the Energy’s and Impulse’s from what I see and have heard it’s based off the Impulse cam and just added new technology and a bit shorter ata to be a more adjustable bow

The unscientific readings that I got had it 2 dB louder than the Envision, and 3 dB louder than the Bowtech CP28.

Now that Elite has a nice bow for the masses, how about letting customers order them online from dealers? No Elite dealers near me. Dealers a long drive from me don't have online inventory listings.

I'm not sure what the policy is on that, but I understand your frustration. It's tough for folks in rural areas. I plan to add an online store in 2023 and hopefully I can list my bow inventory. Good luck!

@@coyotecreekarchery that's weird. Thanks for the review on the Terrain, there's not much info on them for some reason. Do you think the 60# bow could be wound down lower than 45#?

@@MrFornicater I don't think so. Elite specifies how many tuns of limb bolt is acceptable, and I wouldn't go beyond that. If you are wanting a lighter draw weight I would recommend the Ember.

@@MrFornicater I wouldn't say that one is easier than the other, both are nice, but they do have different draw cycles being that they have different cam systems. It's personal preference really.
