Beautiful beasts my friend and well cared for. I bought my first Boerboel a year ago and the reason why I chose this breed is because attack training isn't necessary. Only obedience and proper socializing and you have a dog that will kill for the kids and stand guard always.

EXACTLY!! Good obedience training and lots of good socialization are the keys to a great dog of any breed, but mandatory with these guys. Attack/personal protection training isn’t necessary with this breed, they will protect the family and property instinctively, that’s what they were bred for.

@Francesco Parresia bonds with kids and whomever it feels is family when puppies. But when they get older, not all Boerboels will be accepting to company that visits your home.

Impressive!!!!! I am VERY impressed by these dogs. I have been studying these dogs for some time now. Im a 50 year old man 45 years with pitbulls ( not staffs, am staffs, american bullies etc - die hard pitbull man) i have my 1st crossbreed (last 2 years pit / Rottweiler mix female, best dog i ever had)... When i retire from driving trucks ( dog rides , stayes with me 24/7) i plan on getting a Boreboel. I have ALWAYS spent ALL my time training and exercising my dogs. I am BIG on exercise!!!

Obedience training HAS to be automatic and solid with ANY breed before personal protection training starts. Boerboels can be strong willed dogs with an independent streak, if you can’t recall your dog off leash in high stress situations, PLEASE don’t start bite work until you can. It’s also really important to use a command for releasing a toy, bone, etc. as puppies, it will help with bite work in the long run. All Boerboels are natural guardians of the family, however, just like with ALL working breeds, there are bloodlines that have a higher drive to work. Those bloodlines are great if you really want a WORKING dog that will have a job or compete in schutzhund. BUT, high drive dogs are higher energy, stronger willed dogs that are “harder” that’s what makes them good at it. They can be really destructive on things if not enough exercise and mental stimulation. However, if you want a great dog that’s lower energy to chill with, go on walks, be a natural family guardian, get a Boerboel that doesn’t have the work drive the guys in the video have. With any dog, but especially this breed or any bigger dog, obedience, clear limits and lots of socialization are musts. Not committing to this is equivalent to giving somebody a loaded gun or a car to drive with no training. We DONT want our Boerboels to go the way of the pit bull and be banned.

I’m a homicide survivor. We had a man break in and he killed my Mom. He also tried to kill ne and my little sister. We were 7 and 4. We both almost died. I’m 47 now, and I rescued a precious mini labradoodle senior a few years ago. I’ve thought a lot about what I want in the future. Besides giving back, I want a dog specifically a protection dog, that is trained to protect me. It needs to be a dog with that drive in his blood. My sweet pooch now is mainly avoidant and I adore and accept him. I hope to someday experience the mutual love and respect and, obviously, security, a protection dog offers. I love what you do and I’ve followed you and a few cane corso breeders for a while. You give me an education and also, hope. Thank you. ❤️

Very impressive. I put my email address on the waiting list for a pup. The Red one reminds me of our dog we had to put down 2 years ago. lol, of course he could. all these guard dog breeds could easily kill a large man...dobes, gsd, canes, presas, boerboels, Rots, etc. No dog has killed more people than the pitbull and by a large margin and a pit is a relatively small dog of 50-60 lbs with a bite force of 280 psi, well below any of those named breeds. that why it is so funny seeing idiots fighting over bite force numbers etc like that is any indication of the damage a dog does. its a worthless number for all intents and purpose.

You need a dog with nerves. Taking some hits back can help us know if the dog is actually ready for a fight. There is NO real training without some fight back from the trainer.
