Rework is actually based on old vision of this tower (which means it supposed to be this way from the beginning), but instead he was working as artillery Got this info from wiki, might be true, might be wrong About usage - it costs more than mortar to place, but it's cheaper to upgrade in general, and also has HD from lvl 2, which is easy to get (didn't had issues to got such rocketeer at wave 9-10 on Fallen)

Fun fact : All Rocketeers with all supports ( Red Track DJ, Commander, Jester ( Ice and Confusion ) and Firework Tech ) can shred fallen mode on Grassy Isle ( Sugar rush and all the flags will help a lot ).

golden pyro did actually did better than rocketeer since pyro can deal with other enemies while the burning dmg is happening and rocketeer has to deal with them through the entire map range

i get why they can't make it too aoe focused because it would be too similar to mortar, but the tiny explosion radius at levels 0-3 make rocketeer basically just fancy single target. it would have been cooler to see some kind of burst mechanic involved at the earlier levels, that way it would be unique to other explosive towers that all have slow firerate.

There should be a second upgrade path which would reintroduce the artillery cannon with the path less focused on AOE and more focused on single target damage. Such as like a smaller explosion range but large damage

bro is comparing something of a lower tier tower to a higher tier that I am pretty sure you get through leveling. Those aren't even supposed to be compared bro. He literally compared a tower you get through a 50,000 coin chest (golden pyromancer) (I am pretty sure that is the price for the chest but could be wrong) to a tower I am pretty sure is less than 2000 coins (once again I could be wrong with the price because I got the tower long ago). They don't even have similar intended users. One is for the people who are for new players and haven't beat molten yet (talking about Rocketeer), and the other is meant for the people who are of higher levels and play on fallen (talking about mortar). I love your work but still, how do you compare these completely different towers as if they are both advanced towers, they are not. I must respect people who make these videos because they are hard to make but still. Treat Rocketeer as it was intended, a relatively cheap crowd control tower. Use it in intermediate mode where it was probably intended to be used. Play like an actual intermediate mode player and don't use cowboy because they aren't getting cowboy any time soon. Please people, stop acting like every new tower/rework is going to make fallen much easier and think of the tower as its intended users. If it is a advanced tower, treat it like an advanced tower, if it is Intermediate tower, treat it like a intermediate tower, not a advanced tower.

I just did a comparison between commando and rocketeer, who both are more similar than I thought, if you have to choose between the towers here's how you should do so. Commando: It is better at single-target and sub-dps and is also more versatile due to missiles having all detections. It is slightly worse at splash damage on no-stun enemies, but if an enemy can be stunned, Commando is better(this also makes Commando a better splash tower for breakers). Rocketeer: Better splash damage on stun immunes enemies, more reliable splash dmg(cause no micro needed and less cooldown), and worse single target. Rocketeer also has the benefit of having splash dmg at level 0(granted, not very good splash dmg) and being around 5k cheaper to max.

I think the rocketeer stopped shooting because of the nimble fallen in it's range. Which of course makes no sense at all but it does explain why it started shooting exactly when it exited it's range.

I was kind of hoping that Rocketeer would gain a javelin upgrade, and focus a bit more on single target while still having a decent amount of crowd control to work with, because mortar already fulfills that purely aoe role, and I thought it’d be better if rocketeer had a bit more of an emphasis on single target so it wasn’t completely overshadowed. Oh well.

@ Sure, I’m not against the idea of higher level towers being better than lower end, but having the higher end tower make cheaper one completely obsolete is just bad game design. Even minigunner, the stepping stone for intermediate to advanced players, still has its uses for when you’ve unlocked every tower because it’s a cheaper form of reliable, high dps that the other late game towers can’t achieve at only 2,500$. Mortar and rocketeer cost relatively the same price when factoring in upgrades, so why wouldn’t you use mortar?

Rocketeers is too good now. Has 8* placement limit. Easy to get. Cheaper than mortar. Consistent with single target (ill explain this). And u dont need cliff space to place it down. What i mean by consistent skngle target is that it wont miss. Mortar has cluster bombs that are really jnconsistent and can miss most of the time. So its actual single target can be around 500 to 200 damage per shot. But roketeer will ALWAYS hit its shots so its always going to do about 90x4 damage. And its only single target. Mortars cluster bomc usually hit only 1-2 enemies in hordes. But rocketeers rokets and hit 3 in hordes. Making it very reliable since literally 2/3 of mortars true damage is from its cluster bombs. AND its also more expensive than rocketeer. Dead zone and flying is a disadvantage to rocketeer but ot can be easily countered by its massive range and Firework technician. Even with its downsides it is still on par with mortar and is alot easier to get.

disagree, rocketeer explosion radius is so tiny, no flying detect. Mortar on the other hand is just basically ranger but slightly lower dps and way better crowd control. Only advantage rocketeer has is cheaper cost and hidden detection. But his explosion radius is so tiny he even struggles with fallen soul, even an indirect explosion from mortar can do way better than rocketeer. Also the meta in tds is big range + stun immune, rocketeer has big range no stun immune and has deadzone. Meanwhile mortar has no deadzone has big range and has stun immune. Mortar is better
