*Zamar* one of the words of praise in the Bible meaning; To make music. To celebrate in song and music. To touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument as much as vocals move me and move God in ways i'll never know, i always love when theres instrumental praise and excellency. we are to offer everything we can to Him skillfully. this is worship

Beautiful! I always try to learn from your tone and playstyle on electric, but sometimes all the pedals in the world can't beat the sound/worship of a great player on a great acoustic :) Thanks for sharing!

As an aspiring guitarist, what is the best way to learn this style of playing? So many untraditional chords, some resources would be appreciated. You sound amazing!
@wesleywallace1013 жыл бұрын
As a learning guitarist myself, my thoughts are that it really is sound theory understanding of chord movements and also having a pretty wide chord vocabulary. Jazz and/or gospel music (which gets a lot of its movements from Jazz/Blues) are good genres to start studying chord theory from The Real Book (online as a pdf but even better if you can buy)- is a book of jazz standards that can help a lot in growing chord knowledge You can also study: 2-5-1s Cadences Altered chords Combination of all the above would make for a good start I think. At the most basic level, learn how to play a melody for a song within a scale shape, and then experiment with some accompanying chords below the melody (that is, keeping the melody notes as the highest notes within each chord). Start with simple chords, basic triads, and then attempt more complex chords

These chords are not “untraditional” necessarily. What you are noticing is that they are not the basic block chords you see in chord diagrams but are triads and inversions of basic chords just found wherever he is going on the fretboard with the melody. This kind of playing takes years of development and a keen ear.
