He might not be as good as Michkov at the moment of time but he is one of those players that constantly studies the game and loves to use his head. With that in mind he can become a way better player that is harder to stop because of his brain in the nhl

This video is kind of funny since I watched most of these games and saw these clips live (From the stream) while trying to watch Michkov. The chance to rewatch with analysis is still appreciated though. While we are discussing these preseason games, has anything there changed opinions on Michkov's defensive value? I saw multiple plays where Michkov forced turnovers and produced defensive plays, despite Michkov having had a reputation for supposedly being poor defensively. The main theory I've seen is that this may be a case of Michkov "knowing his assignment", so focusing on more involvement while he plays center, while as a wing he tries to jumpstart the offense as much as possible.

With Michkov, it's not an issue of game-reading ability. He knows where to be and could probably become a pretty great defensive player since he can be relentless and physical, too. He just has to want to get more involved in that facet of the game and forfeit the offence he generates by cheating a bit. It's just a change of mentality. Not a big concern, but some players become stuck in their style of play. We'll see what happens.

@@LETZGONHLdraft I respect your opinion but there isn’t a single statistic to back that up. Michkov has him beat everywhere and even has better skating edge-work although Demidov has better top speed. Michkov’s offensive ability is simply a tier higher.
