Great video, learning a lot. On a lighter note - never in my 27 years in IT have I heard it called Eh-thernet.

Eli, I cannot believe it, but I actually viewed and listened to this complete video. It is great to have "Eli the Computer Guy" back. Thanks. Most of this info was a good refresh course, but I did pick up some new detailed which does help the total understanding. Good Job.

These What Is videos are great! They keeps my attention for the entire classes. I was getting bummed out by all the political BS going on in the world so I came back here to learn something useful. Thanks for the awesome videos. I am not going to say Ethernet the way you do just to piss off all of the younger techies 😆

I only watch a few minutes but your insight into the tech world enlightens me. Thank you.

Ethernét, its French. My dad is an old IBM AS400 guy and now works with completely different apllication stuff now. He could care less about the physical layer. He's super hyperfocused on the applications and is great at proving it is or isnt the sftp or other proprietary stuff he uses. I have never even heard him pronounce ethernet until recently. He says it like the kids and he's got 15 years on you Eli... He does say "sequel server" if it is any consolation.... I have been studying and homelabbing it up for six months. Not sure my end goal yet. Before we could Wondows and Linux stuff a bit. We had our first networking convo the other day and it was cool to literally meet in the middle of the OSI layers...

Eli you're brilliant you know your field, but every time I dial up a video it's always you spending time arguing with trolls, now you said you're from the old school right? Trolls don't care about facts, whether you pronounce a word correctly, whether you understand IT, they care about "air" time, every time you let them get you talking about how to pronounce SQL they win. Food for thought....

I've always said SQL as that's what the service is called. If the service was called "Sequel" I'm sure we would call it that lol.
