I really like these technical videos and it is great to see Eliza featured in this one. Please post more technical videos like this one. I have a Typhoon 230 and the settings are a little overwhelming. I have watched the couple extensive videos you have on Typhoon settings, but that is a lot to take in at once. Could you do short format videos like this one that focus on just one or two setting adjustments? Thanks!

not really, first half of the video is 100% pointless, this is first time I hear that someone is welding Ti using SS filler... then the back purge, making excuses for not achieving full penetration welds on coupons... it would have been much more evident why the backpurge is a necessity if she did that so overall - video is half nonsense examples and other half poor examples

@@dsfs17987 I understand that for an experienced welder, some parts of the video might seem unnecessary or even incorrect. However, I found it useful for beginners, who may not yet be familiar with the basics, such as identifying materials and understanding the importance of back purging. Many beginners might not be able to distinguish titanium from stainless or acid-resistant steel, so showing mistakes and their consequences can also be educational.

@ that is not how you identify titanium, not by welding most easiest method is spark test, take an angle grinder with abrasive wheel and hit the metal and compare sparks to known samples of stainless or carbon steel, Ti will stand out in a very obvious way - lots of very bright, near white sparks stainless will be dull red, and carbon steel slightly brighter red, but not nearly as bright - nearly white of titanium you don't identify Ti by welding it the wrong way and then doing destructive testing, that is total nonsense and weight is another even more obvious sign, titanium is just about half of density of steel, very obvious when you pick it up

When welding TITANIUM you have to have more gas coverage than normal. You are using an oversize torch cup and your TUNGSTON stick out is more than normal as well. You didn't say anything about that.

What I should have said was... in your tutorial. You mention not welding Ti with Stainless rod! You then start to weld without a complete gas shield, then immediately touch down the tungsten and start to weld over it without grinding it out...(Instant scrap part). DM me if you would like some input and advice. I'm happy to help. Definitely don't mean any offence, and misogyny is absolutely not my thing as Nick suggests.

Rmeber a p3 dust mask or lev arm for you nose and lungs sake Ive never had a got a ti and i was allways under impression it had to be gassed or have a gas flow around the job poce \ area when you go to weld it ( sort of like purging but your not trapping the gass par say ) And i would also say you have you cup set up wrong. But thats me Nice to see a female welde reminds me of flash dance
