I do know that she had his last letter to her in a little treasure box next to her bed when she died. She had written that on the note Robert Dudley had sent just before he died, 15 years before her death. She did love him most of her life.
@LisaMaryification4 жыл бұрын
But for some strange reason Dudley married someone else and never bothered to tell Elizabeth. That was a betrayal on so many levels a) because she thought he loved her and b) he didn't have her permission to as noble of the court and c) by marrying who he did, he sabotaged her efforts of trying to stave off the catholics. These transgressions weren't 'Oh he found someone new' they were systematic ways to belittle her powers both as a woman and a Queen by he man who supposedly loved her. The deepest betrayal one could experience.

I think this scene has so beautifuly depicted the hidden fire inside a woman's heart.. A woman generally plays passive and is the one who is controlled by men in her every thought and her decisions.. By her father and brothers before marriage and by her husband after marriage and later by her own sons even. Woman is controlled and every man who knows her, exercises his power on her. But here, as we see the tables have turned, for this is a queen.. She has power in her own hand and how everyone in that hall is tight and alert in wait of her command.. How she controls every moment of her life, how she's the master of herself, how she teases this Man in front of her, how she holds the rein tight in her fists, how she has the freedom and right to do what every woman wants to do, How she sways and glides with her head held high ... Like "Who's the boss here? " and the air seems to reply, "None other than you, my Queen"

It could’ve never happened, although she showed interest in Dudley the Norfolk and Cecil faction was dangerous so Elizabeth declared she wouldn’t marry Dudley, he also had a bad reputation among her councillors and the public who disliked him because of the suspicious death of his wife Amy and the fact that his father and grandfather were executed for treason.
@carterbentonjr399 Жыл бұрын
They came close to getting married. It was well known at the time that Dudley's wife was suffering from cancer and wasn't long for this 🌍. If it wasn't for the suspicious death of Amy Robstart Dudley, she was found dead of a broken neck at the bottom of the stairs then both Elizabeth and Robert Dudley would have married.
