We’re not sure if podcasts can date. But if they could we would want to date Elizabeth Day’s podcast - ‘How to fail?’. (A proposition Hugh awkwardly put to Elizabeth in the final moments of the show). We really do love Elizabeth, and her podcast THAT MUCH.
This incredible conversation covers alot of ground. Elizabeth openly and vulnerably discusses her journey through infertility and her eventual decision to stop fertility treatment; we explore the role exercise and strength training can have in reclaiming one's connection to their body; Ryan and Elizabeth bond over a love of reality TV; and there’s much much more. It’s fair to say there was alot of chat and alot of love in the room for this one.
Elizabeth Day is a Journalist, podcaster and author. The podcast ‘How to fail’ is a brilliant (and wildly successful…ironically) British podcast that has intimate conversations with guests about their experiences with failure. And we couldn't recommend it any more highly.

I just came across this and listening to Elizabeth was like hearing 'this is your life'. (Also down to my 'why' guilty love of reality tv!). I went through a very similar situation and decided to stop trying for a baby last year for my sanity and health...and it was also an amazing releving experience!! So thank you Elizabeth for being vocal about it! Trying for a baby decides everything you eat, everything you drink, every part of your social life, your work opportunities, your physical & mental health, every choice and every emotion. You are constantly physically poked and proded, answering the most intimate of questions, measured and dated, living month to month year after year in 'if' and 'maybe' land. Yes I (we) grieved, but that grief was already there through the limbo years of trying. I knew the health risks involved going through a late pregnancy were real for me and after spending a life already being responible for my own parents the weight of more responsibility of parenthood in this modern age was also very real, so dare I say giving up trying, actually felt like respite! I survived and gained more of myself back, and I believe each day I am becoming more and more me! On my 43 birthday this year I set up my 'fuck it' list. (Kinda like a bucket list on steriods) The things I can achieve when I say 'fuck it' to the world. Like getting my nosed pierced at 43, and putting my cv in for a job way over my pay grade and fighting for it. We may, revisite this again in a few months, or maybe never, but the main thing is I'm good with my choice.

What an incredible woman! As someone who has experienced a decade of pregnancy losses and is now parenting a two year old, there was so much that resonated with me in this conversation. Thank you to you all for your vulnerability and openness ❤
