Why should we be ashamed? It’s literally the elders job to teach history and pass down traditions etc..yall was doing drugs in the 80s and abandoning kids so idk why you said that as if it’s these kids fault.
@Lastdayone14 күн бұрын
Why should young people be ashamed? It is the elders responsibility to tell the younger generations. Unfortunately that does not happen often. How else will they know?
@Lastdayone14 күн бұрын
@@stepxurxgamexupright lol I saw your comment after I wrote mine. I’m a 90’s baby and I had a great aunt talking about young ppl and I found it interesting because she’s never taught me anything 😅. Most of the elder women in my family just sit around and gossip. I honestly find younger generations to be refreshing

Finding this, the day before Mother's Day(2024), was much needed. 🙌🏾 I'm here, missing my Mother and my GrandMother, who raised me. 💔 Then, this thumbnail caught my attention because she reminded me of someone else, I'm missing. Then, to hear her story... Remarkable! Not only do I know Voorhees Alumni, I've participated in many Homecoming events. She transitioned on, so young but she made the biggest impact, on so many lives... Even through her illness. 💪🏾 But the most touching for me, she started my Grandmother's School, in Fairfax. 🥹 Elizabeth Evelyn Wright's story, is an inspiration to all... May she continue to rest, in Paradise. 💝👑💝

Thanking God! That I am a proud graduate of Voorhees College. Voorhees College has been renamed as Voorhees University!! My great-grandfather, Mr. Jackson Wiggins, served as a night watchman, and he picked up Ms. Wright by using his two-seated buggie to travel to several churches in the several areas to solicit monies for the school. He also made several donations. The joy of returning to Voorhees for homecoming is such an amazing feeling of love, excitement, reconnecting, and tears of joy!!! I am Miss Voorhees University 1984, and I was raised by my beloved grandmother, Mrs. Ila Mae Dowling, who is Mr. Jackson Wiggins daughter.

I’ve been learning more and more about Black Legends throughout history recently that I had never heard of before. It’s sad that the schools reduce Black historical figures to the same handful of ppl every year.. & now certain states don’t even want to teach about those or that slavery and the events that followed for Black America ever even happened. This stuff is so important and it’s unfortunate that some ppl, including ppl in power, feel otherwise.
