I couldn't agree more that it is "such a vulnerable thing to make a thing and put it in the world." I published my first book Extreme Blind Date this year and it was and still is absolutely terrifying. Big Magic was a big part of why I did it. When I finished reading it, I thought well it's now or never to get this story out into the world. So I put it out there.

Do something because you love it, not because you might ‘win the prize’. Because if you think you won’t win the prize, you’ll stop doing what you love. This just came to me as I was watching this. Such an eye opening book.

I was the same as you as a child. My mom cooperated in my fears but my dad was the one to push me. In adolescence I turned out to be completely opposite of what I was as a child. I was a bold fearless creative leader. I was everything I ever wanted to be and more. People looked up to me and I was able to do a lot. As I grew up the fears came back and I am lame again. Feeling that I need to unleash the creative again and step into the zone. I was meditating since I was 13 that probably helped immensly contrary to what people may think Meditation does not make u a monk on the contrary it can make you the most energetic and creative person. Getting in touch with the source is the best way to live your authentic full on life everyday. Wish everyone lots of love and courage ❤

I refer to the % of fear I normally live with as, HEALTHY FEAR. It keeps me from shopping at night alone or from making rash decisions. That said, like your companion, FEAR can be a show stopper if you allow it to get the upper hand. I have not read the Big Magic, but will. I recognize that you have a somewhat exhaustive personality, because mine is similar and has been since early childhood. My creativity raced before me in much the same way, so I can understand why YOU, FEAR, and CREATIVITY have become the three amigos.

It happens. I used to be so protective of my stuff. Now, maybe it's age, plus a very supportive bunch of crazy friends, I'm interested in people's take on my stuff. People's opinions doesn't change your creations. They just are only allowed so much of the inspiration behind it. No matter how much you describe or explain it, it's still only so much. It's your inspiration and your creation. Just smile and accept whatever they say, I know, easier said than done, then give your creation a quick wink. It knows, it gets it.

THE TWO WAYS OF ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE [Colossians 2-8] “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of man.” There are two ways by which man can acquire knowledge. The first way is known as Philosophy, it is described as ~a man centred way~ in acquiring knowledge because man has always the first word through his own understanding, his own mind, his own logic. Mans logic and thinking process have the first word in formulating ideas in order to express ideas, opinions or visions, or in order to further benefit man kind in medicine and science. The second way in acquiring knowledge is thought ~Revelation from God~ and it is known as the - Christ centred way-. The precondition of acquiring knowledge the Christ cantered way is that religious Life is practiced according to the Will of the Triad God delivered to the Apostles 2000 years ago. The TRUTH is revealed ONLY to those who have properly prepared to receive it, and it is RECEIVED- PERSON to person-, meaning that the TRIAD God delivers the knowledge personally to man just like he delivered Moses the Ten Commandments. jameswiliamsblog.wordpress.com/author/jameswiliamsblog/ St. Symeon the New Theologian Greek Orthodox Church The vision of Divine Light (God). “It is me, God, Who became man for you; and behold that I have made you, as you see, and shall make you god”. www.monachos.net/content/patristics/studies-fathers/67
