Do you by any chance have a lecture on Philip Sidney, Astrophil and Stella sonnet 7??
@theliteraturechannel97553 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I don't have one recorded. I recommend the following short summary: blogs.hanover.edu/astrophil/2012/10/19/astrophil-and-stella-sonnet-7/ Also, to note, is the central crux of the question of the sonnet is the paradox of beauty arising in what hitherto has not been considered beautiful (dark eyes or features). This trope is extended further in the "Dark Lady" sonnets of Shakespeare.
