Nice video, I hope they rename it back to just the Tappan Zee, I think its just a much more beautiful and timeless name that gives hints of New York's Dutch history!

Same, my mom says that every time too she hates the new name 😅😅😅

If that is what you want, call it by it's proper name, New Amsterdam.

Awesome video! I moved to LA when construction started and just moved back east again and haven’t really seen it yet. Like a previous commenter I definitely prefer the Tappan Zee name, but it actually looks really nice. I’ll have to take the ride at some point and check it out.

The Hudson Valley is great, as is most of New York (Catskills, Adirondacks, etc). I see you can connect to the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail and head south to Van Cortlandt Park. I'll have to check this out the next time I visit NYC. I've only done the North-South County Trailway and Bronx River Pathway when I used to bicycle to work (from Manhattan to Greenwich CT and vice versa). Both are great but as a recreational biker (interested in exploring and enjoying the ride and not speed), the Bronx River Pathway is a ton better. I would occasionally cross the Tappan Zee (both old and new) when I rode into work on my motorcycle. The motorcycle ride from the Midtown West to West Side Highway to Palisades Pkwy to Piermont to Tappan Zee is awesome. Nothing like that exists in Los Angeles (or SoCal). The closest is Palos Verdes and the Vincent Thomas Bridge.
@lizzypicardi2 жыл бұрын
Palos Verdes is a lovely place to ride though. Okay I have my work cut out for next time I am there. A ride I used to do as a kid was bike to the Orchards of Conkland ? (spelling?) and get apple sider donuts or riding down to peirmont and getting dried mango

@@lizzypicardi I'm currently in Seattle, a great place for cyclists like myself who don't want to depend on (nor own) a car and like to bike for recreation, for shopping, for commuting, to explore and so forth. However, it's cloudy most of the year and I got a lot more sun when I lived in Manhattan. So I'll be moving to Denver in early 2023 and giving that a try.

@@lizzypicardi That sounds like a great ride. New York (and East Coast) has a lot of quaint places. I Google Searched it -- Orchards of Concklin. Interesting name that I will never remember how to spell correctly.

Hello Lizzy, How are you? Everything cool? What have you been up to? That's a pretty rad set of wheels! An excellent find!! I imagine you must be very pleased to have spotted it. What was the former owner thinking? As someone who appreciates a well designed and constructed bridge, (kind of...) that looks like a very enjoyable ride. I hope everything's okay with you. See you soon, Matthew
