So I want to become a farmer and was wondering if 100 acres would be enough room for elk
@jacksonneomusic5 жыл бұрын
BB Wolf Hunter I believe the General rule is 2-3 elk with calves per acre
@christofferfehr79145 жыл бұрын
i would treat them like cows and only have 2 max per acres but be prepared to pay alot in feed.

What is a good supplement or mineral for elk antler growth?
@ralphrutherford25835 жыл бұрын
so much work
@JohnMartinez-sm1sk6 жыл бұрын
If the antlers fall off every year why do you have to cut them off
@stupid7856 жыл бұрын
John Martinez They cut them of because sometimes one side is more heavy then the other side. That causes the animal to be stressed. 🦌
@outmodedtiger6 жыл бұрын
They fall off at the end of the breeding season when they've long lost the velvet and are worth a lot less. By cutting them off while in velvet they are worth more. It also makes the bucks calmer and less likely to fight.
@shelbyrorrer4046 жыл бұрын
The velvet antlers are worth more because they are ground down to make vitamins and such if I remember correctly. Once the antlers have become bone they are no longer usable in this aspect and aren't worth as much. We are talking a big price difference too. Not to mention, once they go out of velvet they tend to hurt each other and you don't want any big bulls getting severely injured or dying by something that could have been prevented. This is literally what basically the entire video is about :P

But are there any nerves in the antlers when there is blood flowing through them?
@outmodedtiger6 жыл бұрын
@@burgienl no. There is no nerves in the actual antler. There is at the base that's why they use the nerve block so they don't feel anything.

@kaydenc41515 жыл бұрын
No you can not the elk or deer that comes out would be to big or to small and they are different breeds. Also it wouldn't be able to hold its head up
