@@lukevanlanen8828 I am 0-4 on elk hunts but have seen at least a cow elk each time. Born and Raised are better whitetail hunters than I am an elk hunter apparently.

If that ain't the best analogy for whitetail ive ever heard I don't know what is lol. "You want him single. You don't want secret service all around" 😂😂😂 that's a fact Jack

I like to spot and stock whitetails! Originally from Northern Idaho, and we slow stock ridge tops, mountain meadows etc. I used tree stands some in late season, find a really well used gametrail and set up a stand! You could sit days without seeing what your after, but usually it paid off! Then I moved to TN, totally different! Tree stands, food plots etc. Now, if your lucky and get to know somebody with a big piece of property, spot and stock in the hard woods is a hell of a good time! Just hard to find, i was so spoiled growing up in Idaho with so much access to public land. Miss it every day! Great video guys! As always!!

Well, Trent, now you know what us eastern whitetail hunters have to deal with. I'm 69 and have hunted central Pennsylvania all my life for whitetails. I love it, so challenging. This was a great hunt, and I loved seeing how excited you were. Good shot buddy on a super great buck, congratulations!! Jay from Pa.

Nice 3 year old 8. They get a lot bigger than that as soon as they start hitting that 5.5 year old range. Funny listening to you guys call the brow tines eye guards. 😬. Congrats on a good hunt.

I get plenty of does every year but to harvest a mature buck has been an ego killer for me I'm struggling but man it sure keeps my engine running. Miss me some blacktails p.s always seen y'all at McKay's mkt an stuff during season growing up an had no idea y'all would be my go to KZbinrs especially for that coastal content I miss an love. great buck nice work keep on grinding💪

Great video. I am a die hard elk hunter and started whitetail hunting about 5 years ago. It lets me hunt Oct thru Jan and its absolutely a blast. You guys nailed it. Whitetail is so much more technical. No spot n stock in whitetail hunting let them come to you.

Beautiful buck! I grew up out west, backpacking and fishing in the mountains. But I didnt really start hunting until I was in the Army stationed east of the mississippi. Since then I have made several trips back out west to hunt elk and mule deer, and I have to say that I am very glad that I cut my teeth bowhunting east coast whitetails. It gave me so much opportunity to learn how to read sign, read the wind, figure out what the wind does in hill country with thermals, and get lots and lots of reps at getting to full draw on animals in close quarters, aiming at the right spot on the animal, and then executing the shot. I learned to hunt in a place that lets you hunt from september to january, and kill up to 3 does a day, every day of the season, and two bucks for the season. And by the nature of whitetail hunting, I didnt have to make a huge trip to go hunt. I could get a morning hunt in before work or an afternoon hunt in afterwards. I even built a house on hunting property so I could hunt out my back door. I had so much opportunity to learn from my failures. When I first went back out west to my roots and started hunting there I had the great advantage of having learned from more mistakes in my 4 years of hunting whitetails than I could have had learned in 15 years of hunting mule deer or elk.
