I loved how you drew your bow as he was leaving, good job for trying, you may have tried to draw very slowly while he was watching you instead of remaining motionless as he already had you pegged. A slow draw may or may not have spooked him, but sitting completely motionless surely did as he had your scent sorted out. Great footage. Thanks for sharing!

Any movement would have triggered a fight or flight response. Either the bull would have charged off or attacked the bowhunter. He had no choice in the matter. That's hunting...sometimes things don't go as hoped. This was an epic moment for that guy...he did what any bowhunter would do. Stay still.

this is as cool a hunting video that I have ever seen. When I see videos like this I can't help but wonder how and why sometimes you will go hunting and see nothing. this guy was a foot away and the elk wasn't sure if he was alive or if he was a threat. It goes against any and all you think you know about animals. I would have shit my britches and had a heart attack. I honestly do not believe I could of been that close and not passed out. That was intense.

Well I have been a bowhunter for over 35 yrs and I agree with the holding still part but being an avid elk hunter I know how much noise a bull will make coming in and as soon as I would hear him coming I would turn in the direction he is coming from ... and I would of also had my bow drawn as soon as I saw him come into view ....jUST MY 2 CENTS ...Nothen ment by it ...I see this on T.V so much it drives me batty ....
