Played by Billy Currie on the early Ultravox albums (especially Systems of Romance). Midge Ure played the clavichord preset in the melody of "Mr. X".

In my opinion the best sounding string machine; there must have been a good reason Chris Franke was still using it on Le Parc and some soundtracks around that time.

The overtones on a standard saw wave does something for me that I just can’t describe. It soothes my heart and opens my mind to wonder (and wander). Thanks again for showcasing these antique analog keyboards.

Finally ! Another upload from Analog Audio. You are solely responsible for my acquisition of at least 10 vintage synths. The sounds you get out of these machines are not only noteworthy but also infinitely inspiring. Please dust off your Doepfer set up and do another video with that monster of a modular synth.

Volker Kahrs from Grobschnitt used the Rhapsody 610 a lot from 1975 on till he quit in 1982. I love this thing, I got two build in in my old Elka X-705 organ. 😊

These things are BONKERS cool. Italy is back to the analog attack. The country has their very own distinct sound too

I have the beige, brown and silver version. I'd like to have the black and silver version. Though they are both designated as 610, I am told the internal circuitry is not identical. Mine has a more warbly kind of modulation than what I hear on recordings of the silver version. I run mine through a Small Clone and then it has that Heaven and Hell/Equinox string sound, a little smoother and more lush. Without the pedal, it has a more organ-like sound.

Strings machines are interesting. i haven't learned the 70s music gear yet. But didn't some electric organs make these sounds?. Im curious, anyone care to explain the history of these machines?

so no divide down oscillator?,and separate VCA's for each voice?@@AnalogAudio1
@roetsj11 ай бұрын
“Polyphonic” refers to synths that can play more than one note at a time, which technically would include paraphonic synths. However, the way it's commonly used among synthesists, “polyphonic” refers to the ability to play multiple notes with each note having its own voice architecture.
@roetsj11 ай бұрын
still,an iconic stringer,and yours is a very nice one to look at too.
@AnalogAudio111 ай бұрын
@@roetsj It's fully polyphonic. Since there is no filter, paraphonic does not apply here... I think, the DECAY applies for every single note. Not sure if there are 61 VCAs inside.
