Idk why but these days I have been watching way too many documentaries on the Hadza tribe and yours is one of my favorites now. All the documentaries have been filmed by male creators so you're the first female creator to show case it. Thank you for this lovely video yet once again. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you very much for your comment! I'm so glad you like my video - especially when there's some stiff competition from other Hadza videos out there. I was actually worried at first that the Hadza wouldn't let me take part in a hunt as it's an activity reserved for men in their culture and I'd never seen a woman visitor do it online. Thankfully my fears had been in my head they were extremely encouraging and made me feel like a proper part of the group 🥹

Wow, felt like watching a Natgeo episode. The way you stayed cool even though you knew you were lost is commendable. And to keep up with locals who are used to that terrain and condition is not at all an easy thing. Great work, looking forward for great content

Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed watching it. I was so fatigued and dehydrated that I had no energy to get worried 🤣 It's crazy that they have to do this every single day to get food!

What camera/setup are you using?
@EllaMcKendrick
@EllaMcKendrick Ай бұрын
My main camera is a Lumix Panasonic (for this video it was GH6 but I've recently upgraded to GH7 which has better autofocus). I also always bring a GoPro with me for trips like this so that a member of the tribe or guide can use it as they're much faster than I am in this terrain!

@EllaMcKendrick
@EllaMcKendrick 5 ай бұрын
Hey! A couple of cameras were used to film this but my main camera is the Lumix GH6. I also use a DJI Osmo Action for the more 'action' parts as I can keep this rolling at all times so I don't miss anything.

I have came through this areas via my indian travellers. For a girl, i can imagine what challenges you face, nd mostly surviving. Nd now don't so glad, because i am a student, i will unable to provide you any help. But surely other than financial help, i can assist you. For the language can they understand you if you don’t do the clicks? When I was in Thailand the language used tones and people could sometimes seem to literally not understand a sentence where a single tone was off. 😅

The chief can speak a little bit of Swahili and so was able to communicate a bit with our Swahili guides. Body language also helps to communicate. They love to act out what they're saying and so you can do the same back to them

In terms of the pig carrying babies I’d say it’s fair to see it as a mistake as those babies would’ve grown into more food opportunities, but it’s only a mistake on a logistical level, not a moral level.
@EllaMcKendrick
@EllaMcKendrick 2 ай бұрын
That's a fair point. I wonder if they knew that the pig was pregnant before catching it. It's also very possible that when food is scarce they don't have the luxury of not pursuing the opportunity for a big meal like this, even if it would perhaps benefit them in future
