Here are tips for raising a betta fish 1. Don't move the tank. The fish hate being moved 2. Feed it 3. Maybe put rock( pebbles) at the bottom of the tank 3. Put a little real moss plant in 4. Don't let Elle put her hand in the tank 5. If you get another betta fish do not put them in the same tank( they will fight) 6.the round bowls and not usually good so I suggest get one for the pet store 7.buy some betta fish toys (or it will get sad) 8.And please please take great care of it Hope this helped!

Great suggestions! I knew not to put two together bc they would fight to the death. We had one once and we had a small live lily plant that floated on top of the water and the fish 🐟 swam in and out of it! I hope they do read your instructions!

*IMPORTANT* You're actually really not supposed to buy the plastic plants for your fish because they can cut and scratch the fish. They sell actual little plants in containers like the one you get the betta fish in at petsmart or Petco. And round fish bowls aren't very good for your fish either. They disorient the fish and distort their vision. Betta fish also have the ability to jump, quite high for a fish, and sometimes jump out of open tanks.

I think people undermine the abilities that 1 year olds can already have, especially people who haven’t experienced much with children. I work with children daily from 2-4 year olds and you’d be surprised how advanced children’s brains already are. Even as little babies children know how to get what they want without even knowing how to fully communicate yet.

Also you should change your tank to a square tank it's better for the vision of the fish and doesn't reflect the same stopping the fish from thinking other fish are in the tank with him. (Betta fish can be very territorial) Some brands like Marina make square tanks for for certain fish like beta fish, So you can have the correct amount of water for the fish.

AUSTIN BRO!! This fish could die bc of the change of temperature of the water. I’d advise you to put the fish back into the cup with water and set the cup inside the bowl with water(water inside the cup and the bowl) , in order for fish to adjust to the different temperature. My sister just bought a beta fish too! (December 14,2017) and she did the exact steps I said. Becareful guys!
