Pond’s career trajectory as an GMMTV artist has been very interesting. He won a talent contest and has really gain instant fame not just for his looks but in his willingness to perform. Since his little cameo performances in The Gift, he has steadily improve as an actor. He really has that charismatic star quality you can’t take your eyes off of for a second. I know people tend to over praise Phuwin because he has more of the typical conventional beauty Chinese netizens go for. But without Pond, Phuwin would still be struggling in obscurity. Phuwin had been a child actor for many years and was in an unofficial ship with Neo that fizzled into obscurity. We know Neo excelled with other pairing like Louise and Mark so clearly it isn’t Neo that is lacking in acting chops or chemistry with his co-stars. Without Pond and his unabashed kissing skills and creating hot chemistry with Phuwin, Phuwin would be in supporting roles forever. Given that Phuwin keeps getting himself type cast into these bad boy sexy roles that he cannot pull off or have the sexual energy play. I am surprised he was such a sexless character as Oce in The Warp Effect. That cameo in The Jungle was so miscast that I laughed when I saw him in it. It was also cringey to watch him in his gigolo character because he cannot spark and heat with both the women and man in the series. Why does he he keep trying for this sexy stud roles he’s so under qualified for. In comparison, we know Pond nailed not only Mork but he encompassed Palm in a way that still have fans wagging their tails at him for. For his character as Judo,he definitely had enough charm and sexiness for it. But he was such an adorable golden retriever as Alan in Loneliness Society. Every role Pond play has been a different character and it allows him to grow as an actor without being type cast. Pond really has the look and built for a fashion model. The international fashion type and not the fan favorite type that Phuwin gives. Pond just hits different when he does fashion shoots and editorials. Dude has the hair and jawline diversity ned by god. But the best thing about Pond is definitely his dancing. Every Pond fan knows he’s a Wang Yibo fan as well as a K-pop stan of many of the K-pop idols. I cannot wait to see all the things Pond is pursuing this year and the years to follow. I am putting my money on Pond being internationally famous once he is done with school.
